Exactly. And it's the little things that matter -- like Hugh's friend refusing to go on this caper without his wife (with no objection from Hugh). The hardest thing to accept about a romantic comedy like this is why a glamorous movie star would ever fall for a nobody who owns of a failing book shop. But scenes like this, which show the kind of loyalty and loving friends he inspires, make it (almost) believable.

I am actually having a real difficult time that I haven't seen my partner for a year now due to covid and border restriction. I don't really know what else to do, excepting keep waiting for an update month after month... I came across this movie tonight on KZbin, recalled my memory of those golden, old, sweet times when I was watching Notting Hill for the first time as a little girl. The sweet, heart warming feeling... It's always good to see some nice things happened, even though just in a movie. So thank you for a precious 10 minutes clip to comfort me tonight.

I love the part in the car where Gina McKee breaks character and starts laughing before the punch line "James Bond doesn't have to put up with this s**t". One of my favorite movies and I normally am not a Julia Roberts fan.

Unfortunately, this clip stops before the final end, with the beautiful song playing, they are in the park, on the bench, holding hands & the camera turns around showing that she is pregnant. I get teary every time ! 😅 😍

I've watched this so many times but only now did I notice Bella's face at 3:02. Excellent acting. What a cast this is.

Will is validating his reasons not to accept Anna for something that is unreasonable - having cellulite, being a vegetarian, pretentious actor, etc. 😆😆😆 I love this movie!

Thacker never complained about any of those. He complained about Anna's rotten treatment of him.

This is so strange. You would think someone would have figured out who it is by now. Can't imagine there are that many beautiful movie star-ordinary guy combos.

@@Jennyfisch Julia did end up marrying a camera man and having 3 children with him! Still married...

@@beverlystraus9300 An actor marrying someone who is film crew isn't at all unusual - fairly common in fact, even though it's more often the director, cameramen often go on to direct also. What makes the relationship in this movie unusual is almost that she is basically the reverse of a character she played in an earlier film role - ie Vivian in Pretty Woman. She's a person at the height of their life, but jaded with it and looking for some comfort in the warmth of a real person with genuine feelings that lives in the real world - ie our protagonist Hugh Grant. I'm pretty sure that the restaurant scene with the rude man alluding to the word actress meaning prostitute is actually a direct reference to her role in Pretty Woman - Richard Curtis can be on the nose like that sometimes.

Seriously the group of friends and his roommate by far is what makes this movie more hilarious and fun 😅

One of the best films of all time. Watched it as a teenager decades ago. Have watched it many times since then. Still as fresh as the 1st time I saw it.
