I talk about 3 Nikon 300mm lenses that you can buy for under $100.00. They are the 300mm 4.5 Pre-AI, 100-300 5.6 AIS Zoom and the 75-300 F4.5-5.6 AF zoom.

Great video. I have the 300 f4.5 and have been quite pleased with it. I got it for $20 in the clearance bin of my favorite local camera store here in Dallas. There are a lot of good deals around if you like the old Nikon glass and bodies. Keep up the good work.

Thank you. I’m always looking for vintage lenses. Sometimes you can get a really good deal in thrift stores or flea markets.

Half the fun is in the search. I gave up long ago thinking I would be able to shoot as fast as I acquire

I’m in Dallas. What camera store is this? Especially one with a clearance bin. I’m very interested.

I have the 100-300mm 5.6 bought for £42 and gives excellent images , I bought a 2nd very tidy boxed copy with instructions and the HN-24 hood included for £50 on ebay , I also have the 70-300 AFS VR which I use for wildlife but I think the 100-300 has the edge on image quality and I first heard of this lens in the Moose Peterson Nikon System Handbook which mentioned its excellent optical quality.

I agree that it’s very sharp, but for action I much prefer and auto focus lens. Thank you for watching my video.

I have the 300 f4.5 and it have used it mostly on my F and F2 but I have used it on my Z7 with acceptable results. I shoot mostly B/W with my F and F2 and was wondering would the chromatic aberrations be less noticeable when shooting B/W film
