Augustus fits the image that history brings ti surface 9f the Germanic Angle and Saxon Men, certainly the Vikings, possibly also the Jutes, and Normans. To hold men in high regards whom behaved in such a Narcissistic manner having an Emotional Development of an Adolescent, and living through the (Lower Mind, aka Ego Mind, aka Adolescent Mind). Discerning rather than judging.

I never thought of Saxony as eastern Europe. I guess for the brits everything that isn't Britain is eastern Europe

Apparently, Augustus was the king of a Commonwealth of Poland and Lithuania, which would generally be considered Eastern, as well as ruling Saxony, so Dr Fox is probably using "Eastern Europe" to refer to his kingdom in general, rather than Saxony specifically. Then again, everywhere beyond France is basically East of Britain, so it depends on your frame of reference, I suppose.
