I remember watching Dave Allen as a kid in Ireland. He was only on English TV - BBC I think. He was banned in Ireland. Way ahead of his time! Genius

I remember my parents absolutely pissing themselves laughing over Dave Allen Show which used to show on Saturday Nights in New Zealand back when I was growing up in the 1970-80s. I was only allowed to watch it as I was at that tender age where it mostly went straight over my head at the time but years later my laughter echoes that of my parents from that by-gone era. Well done SociopathicFruitloop for posting it.

Tell me about it. My step-mum was of 'generous' frame and I was paired up with my step-brother, the kind of man that would have to run around in a shower to get wet....and two cousins built like tanks. My step-brother and I led.....up 200 steps to the grave-plot. Then across about 200 meters of wet grass. I'm taller than my step-brother but shorter than the two gorillas... so it felt like I was carrying her alone. Tip : If you get asked to be a bearer aat a funeral then dont talk about it afterwards, or you get asked again.

i had an Irish girlfriend who told me about her trip to confession after a romantic date we had. The priest told her to say 3 hail Mary's, two our fathers and a glory be as penance. I thought it should have been three glory be's!!! I was pretty fit then!

+GavinJ37 The bride at 0.53 looks very much like her as she was in 'The Darling Buds of May', if you saw it. I think i was on in the late 70s/early 80'. I'm not sure when this was made, - I don't think it can be her, because Dave Allen was generally a bit earlier, but it might have been the early days of her career. She was quite stunningly gorgeous a that time.
