I was watching the race from my living room back in Scotland and noticed the Ducati hospitality tent on the start/finish. I remember thinking that you'd probably be in there soaking up the atmosphere. What a race!

Hey Rembo! Thanks for sharing! Yup, nothing better than riding cross country on a bike, especially those of the Multistrada family. I don't know, riding through Houston on a bike, I think if I were to do that, I would need counseling!

Road Warrior! Congrats! Yeah, in CO the allergens have been horrible the last week as well. Thought I was getting sick but it’s just the air.

You might want to check the vent intakes on your helmet. Those vents often load up with pollen and dirt. A wet q-tip into a vent will let you know right away. Its happened to me several times with my Arai.

Sounds like a great trip! Glad you’re back safely. And no, I did not miss the picture with the RevZilla guy (Andrew, I think?).

Thanks Rembo. Maybe I can make the trip on my '22 V4S from Tallahassee next year. I have similar back problems and I'm glad you did so well.

Great running into you at the Grandstands (I'm Scott from AZ with the '23 PP) - glad you made the round trip safely! Interstate travel can be rather boring and combined with the pollen...ugh. I rode from Phoenix to COTA a couple years ago on my BMW K1600GT and while the bike is awesome, interstate 10 through AZ, NM and the eastern half of TX is hot, windy, boring and full of semi-trailers. So the last couple years I've done the unthinkable and trailered my bike to COTA. Ya, even me, who's logged over 300,000 miles in my riding career, decided it was worth trailering and then riding once I'm there. Was able to put on about 800 miles riding the hill country the day before and the day after the practice and race days. I did the "Three Twisted Sisters" (routes 335, 336 and 337) and nearly ran of gas - as you know, the Pikes Peak is a thirsty girl - as the area is pretty remote and not many towns. If you are there again next year, I'd recommend adding a day or two and spending some time in the twisty roads of the hill country as I know how flat and straight the roads are there in FL. Now I just need to watch the race on TV to see all the great racing/passing/drama up close.

3251 miles round trip and my PP (still all stock) with Road 6s got 41.2 mpg with cruise control set at 80mph the vast majority of the time.

I had the same pain at the base of the back of my neck after long trips. For my GSA the solution was to add 30mm straight risers to eliminate my slight forward lean towards the bars. Cheap, simple mod and a real game-changer for comfort, wish I had done it sooner. The only thing to look out for is to make sure you have enough slack in your clutch and brake lines to install them.

At 80 MpH, your Pikes Peak gets better MPG than my GS Adventure. 😮

Another incisive and interesting video Rembo, thanks. I take my hat off to the mileage you and your fellow Americans cover on a road trip. Not just overall by in a day. Being in the U.K. your single day would have me from one end of the country and part way back 😅

Glad you had a safe trip. I just came back from a 2100 mile ride from So. Cal to Nashville (2days, 1 night, on a Harley Low Rider ST). I don't use my adaptive cruise control much but I sure wish that Harley had it. I would have loved it on that trip. Yes, I was sore too but did a lot of core work in advance which Im sure helped out. I see you have the touring windscreen. I have one as well but have not used it yet. Did the screen help you out a lot? Also saw you met Zack and Ari.

For long rides use a Respro mask for allergies.

I have degenerative arthritis of the neck. Years ago I was in my early 40's Dr. told me I had the neck of a 70-year old. I found bar risers helped. I also find on longer rides that if I wear some type of lower back support (like a kidney belt that off road guys wear or work type lower back support belt) helps. Of course exercise and stretching/yoga helps as well. Sucks being old. 🤣
