I also use tap water, but where i live its super safe to drink and I've never had an issue! I'm glad it worked out great for you :)

What type of water did you use for them ?

just starting out with a 3.5 i added 5 starter packs and about a cup of salt over the course of 5 days. just added the last of said amount tonight. have not had any eggs hatch yet as i did not know i needed a amount... should i start over or give it some time?

Do you have a heat source going? Eggs will take a lot longer to hatch if the water isn't warm. Once water conditions are more suitable heatwise they will start to hatch a lot faster! you can get mini betta heaters, which I have in this tank, or you could use a heat mat which works much faster! If you do that you will have much more success :)

@@thebrinelady4772 so i did not know i needed 1/2 cup salt (non ionized ) to a gallon of water so i started over as i did not know how much i had put in :/ i have a heater in keeping water to 78 degrees . put 2 packets eggs in yesterday 24 hours after i added the salt. so hopefully got it this time :)

I need to find some of this stuff locally. But it’s impossible.

How come you didn't use the filter on the tank? How do you manage population size for these little guys?
@thebrinelady47722 жыл бұрын
It's not necessary to use a fillter for brine shrimp and sometimes the filters can be too strong for them to swim in the tank and some suck them right up. And as far as population they adapt to the size of the tank. I never had an overpopulation in this tank but it did do really well.
