My friends and I used to ride there before it was the demonstration forest on trials bikes! It was so fun because regular motorcycles could only be ridden on the fire road while we had sections and many trails for our bultaco trials bikes! Many of our trails are now named bike trails after the state made it a park to show the public how sustainable logging was being used! The big ride is to start at the entrance at Nicene Marks State Park in Aptos and ride up to the ridge trail then to flow. If you can ride back up to ridge after doing flow, it’s down hill on the fire road for another epic ride back to your car in Aptos! Don’t know the real mileage round trip but I’ll estimate 25 miles or more!Enjoy!!!! Ps bring lots of water and nutrition as it gets hot in the summer and muddy in the winter! Use trail apps like strava or all trails for details. Not for the weak👍🏾

Did the flow trail a couple years ago. Very memorable! And I just got back from Skypark. Tony - seeing your videos and comparing my riding makes me appreciate your skill and speed. I went with a local on the flow trail, and he claimed you can almost ride it without braking. I was skeptical, but seeing your POV makes it look doable. Do you think it's possible? Did you brake much? Looking forward to more Santa Cruz footage!

Rode Flow/Braille in Feb just before world ended. If you have the gas, strongly recommend Braille as a second. Flow is fun, but actually can get a bit boring. Braille jumps are rad, especially if you have someone who knows them tow you down. Shlep drinks up to the the top and stash at Braille. Do Flow. Climb. Find drinks. Consume. Hit Braille. Nap. Climb back to truck.

Flow, Braille, and Sawpit are sanctioned trails that appear on all the trail maps. The UC trails you’re thinking of are definitely a no-no for posting the locations.

Rode flow a few months ago for the first time and was howling like a little kid the whole way down. Then I rode braille and almost killed myself on the last log drop. Laid there for 30 minutes waiting for the pain of a broken collar bone or ribs, luckily that never happened. No cell service and no one around and the worst climb ever back to the car. I am very lucky. Anyways, I got all the feels watching this flow ride! Also, your mini whips are looking good brother.

So it seems easier to get to flow from the parking lot by heading down Hihs Sulphur to Sulphur Spring(the climb) then to a small section of Ridge trail?

If you want a properly wicked all day ride, start in Soquel, ride thru Nisene Marks, do a lap or two in Demo and ride back to Soquel down West Ridge. 55 miles+. This is a real MTBers ride.

DUDE! These are my home trails! I live right at the bottom of nicene in Aptos and I ride nicene or demo 3 times a week! Edit: if you want a much longer flow trail, ride from the Benches you started at (the summit) to the entrance of nicene marks. There are about three different routes you can go, and they are all between 10 and 14 miles of flow Trail. You descend in total 3000 feet of elevation. I’m not certain but I believe this is One of the longest flow trails in America!
