Some good power coming out of 3.5s! Adding a bit of top spin for consistency and some better footwork and you guys are 4.0 for sure. Good match.

I've played in three 4.0 tourneys in north Texas to this point. That looks like above average pace and directional hitting from what i've experienced so far. It also appears you have the consistency which is a huge part of the 4.0 level.

Your serve is tremendous for 3.5 level; looks very fluid. With some more improvement on depth and consistency for groundstrokes, you'll be 4.0 level soon enough!

Very good tennis for 3.5, pishing 4.0 I'd say. Don't play points with a ball in the middle of the court! (00:40) Take five seconds to deal with it. I know people who have never regained full speed after a bad ankle sprain.

With some improved footwork, you could turn a lot of those BH into FH during the rally at 1:35 - 1:50 and ultimately win more points

Agreed. Surprisingly, his backhand is stronger than his forehand.

@@diyjosh quite common at beginner level I think, even when I was a 3.0 or 3.5, I would feel more comfortable hitting BH shots as I felt more composure and control

Maybe a stupid question from a European watcher, but what sport are the blue lines in the middle of the court used for?

@dangitbobby
@dangitbobby 3 жыл бұрын
@@diyjosh Lol yeah that makes sense. If you ever decide to, you should play 4.0. If you are self rated and you have too many easy wins, you'll get DQ'd, forced up to 4.0, and your team will have to count all your wins as losses.
@InfiniteQuest86
@InfiniteQuest86 2 жыл бұрын
@@dangitbobby I doubt it. You are definitely underestimating 4.0. I've played a lot of 4.0s and these guys are not. They don't have the consistency, depth, power, or spin of a 4.0. This isn't to knock them. They are doing really well, but it is not 4.0. I would stick with 3.5 and see how it goes. You don't want to self-rate 4.0 and bagel every single match. There are a lot of 3.5 that will just put the ball back in play with horrible technique and these guys would lose to that.
@hanbrianlee
@hanbrianlee 2 жыл бұрын
@@InfiniteQuest86 well they would def belong to 4.0 in my opinion. I know a lot of guys who "first entered league" and start at 3.5, and wonder why they win 6-0 all the time and get bored and move to 4.0. Sure they won't win most matches in 4.0. But I'd say they can do at least low-4.0~mid 4.0. I'm high 4.0~low 4.5. I was mid 4.0 (win half of my matches) last year. I'd def recommend they start at 4.0, and get their ass beat or win hard games. But if the goal is to win sectional/regional etc, they def should join 3.5 though. Most 3.5 captains will be hunting for these "oh i dunno my level" guys who are def 4.0 lol.
