Thank you so much for this! I just got done doing this on my 2004 Impala and it worked great. I can't say it was the easiest process, though. I ended up splicing the wire where it sits between the CD player module and the circuit board, since there was barely any wire to work with on the side you showed in the video. First time I put it back together, I had it jammed so tight against the wiring that the CD player wouldn't work right. I think I had tried to eject the disk and it couldn't, so I was stuck with no working CD player. Reassembled and took it apart multiple times, but eventually got it. I learned a lot of ways NOT to do the wiring lol.

BTW, where did you find out that the 1st and 3rd wire were the right and left audio channels? I tried to verify this online but couldn't find a schematic for it.

@@anthonymyers4378 Im glad the video helped you with your install, it took me a time or two as well the first time... as for the 1 and 3 wires, I honestly dont remember if I saw it online in a forum somewhere or if i rang it all out with a meter. ive done this 3 times on 3 different cars and every one had the same connectors and wires. (buick regal, and two impalas)

My unit has a connector in that area of the board, but instead of 6 pins it has 8 pins, and the black wire is all the way to the left instaed of all the way to the right. Do you know if your method will work with my unit and what pins would be what? Thanks for any help here!

i honestly dont remember its been so long ago. Trace the circuit board, youre looking for the cassette "input" channels. wish i could say yes or no but i honestly dont remember. Ive done a few different types and they're all somewhat different.

is there any way to do this without having to put in a cd?

Im sure you could, if you had a tape deck you could intercept the tape decks "input feed" to do the sound transfer, if not you'll have to have a cd player w a cd in.
