Negative numbers in business and management are the number which is positive but in brackets and not with a negative sign or a minus sign, because in large data the negative sign is small and may not be seen and this is of course a problem for large companies, so brackets were applied as a clear sign to differentiate between positive and negative numbers.

the minus sign is very small, so for clarity we use brackets instead

I think you write it like that when the cash outflow is negative. that is used for negative figures instead of the minus sign.
