I was thinking of Anessa the whole time bc I remember how matte it was for me but I still love it and had to be one of my favs ever. I still think about it when I don’t have it. If you haven’t tried any of Shiseido sunscreens, you might be in luck! I got a gigantic bottle of the expert sun protector and found that it’s one of the most hardcore ones I’ve tried. It looked the same all day. It’s just really hard to find now… though I would have imagined a lot of Japanese sunscreens would be great for your situation hmm 🤔

I have the exact same problem as you. I've tried hybrid and mineral sunscreens before because they claim to be more matte, but they've all been a total disaster, so I gave up on minerals. The only K Beauty sunscreen I like is Haruharu chemical. It's still not matte enough for me. The one I found to be the most matte is Elf Invisible Sunscreen Blurring Primer. It's also water resistant. So for the way my skin feels - nourished and healthy, I use Haruharu. For when I want to look more matte or for workouts and the beach, I use elf. I also have a prerequisite that it needs to be cruelty free and vegan. I hope to find a better one in the future, since I'm picky just like you.

I am always on hunt for matte sunscreens and recently came across House of Hur - Weightless Sun Fluid. Fully chemical, really simple, nothing fancy. Honey extract, sunscreen and some silica, which is what keeps the oils at bay mostly. Inexpensive, bought it on StyleVana, give it a try :)

Hey! This sunscreen sounds great! Do you find it to adhere strongly to the skin and be harder to remove or to remove more easily? Is it waterproof/transfer proof type one or not? Thanks! :)
@tomassusedik81543 ай бұрын
@@nadined9282 it's the typical "daily" sunscreen so it is not water nor sweat proof. But it adheres to skin nicely, sets down pretty quickly too. One fairly matte and budget friendly sunscreen is from Spanish brand Niche Beauty Lab, their lightweight sunscreen. Not sure where they ship, but I like that sunscreen a lot. Has some peptides and ectoin.

Hi, just came across your channel and have been loving your recs! I just wanted to ask, what are your thoughts on kakadu plum extract? I've been wanting to try a few new Aussie spf's and quite a few have this extract which I have never heard of before. Apparently it's high in vitamin c so would this still be ok for a damaged skin barrier with acne prone skin. I really want to try the beautifltr featherlight but it also contains this ingredient and am just starting differin so am worried if kakadu plum is like other potentially irritating extracts/eseential oils. Does it truly have as much vitamin c as people claim? I feel like it would be pretty low in this particular spf so the vitamin c benefits may not even be there? Sorry for the rant, would love to know your thoughts!
@sambythecounter3 ай бұрын
It's hard to say as there are different suppliers of Kakadu plum and the brand would need to check if they offer a standardised amount of Vitamin C within the extract. Generally, any claimed content of a chemical within a natural extract will vary based on batch so it's an unreliable ingredient claim. However, the reason Vitamin C serums can be problematic for damaged barrier is often due to the pH of a formula, not specifically the Vitamin C itself. Kakadu in a regular skincare product that's not highly acidic is very unlikely to cause a problem. And I would look at it more as a general antioxidant booster, not a Vitamin C extract.
@annasmith80633 ай бұрын
@@sambythecounter I am looking at purchasing the Beautifiltr Feather light SPF which contains kakadu plum. This should be a very low amount and as you should, shouldn't cause a problem as it is in spf? Thank you so much for your response, just followed you on ig!

I share your fastidiousness and really appreciate the recommendations. I’m so oily and congestion prone! Everyone in the comments is recommending Anessa but I HATE that stuff (I can’t help being triggered). That, reapplied throughout the day, in conjunction with Banila Clean It Zero and the Fancl cleansing oil gave me serious congestion issues (I basically had a waxy buildup on my face) that lasted for years, no matter what I did. If you’re congestion prone like me I recommend a sunscreen which is easy to remove (to my mind this would not be water and sweat proof) and a cleansing oil type of product that won’t leave a residue. I literally had residue in my pores for years. Too afraid to use sunscreen and double cleansing now. People won’t shut up about oil/balm cleansers. Instructions for use seem straightforward enough, but you need to be careful. The only videos of people using them were of idiots using half a tub of balm on their faces. This messed me up. Do NOT do this! Less is more. Emulsify THOROUGHLY and gradually, adding small amounts of water at a time. It is essential that every bit of oil has been massaged into milk. Do this until no more ‘milk’ rinses off your face. I just hope no one else gets the severe congestion issues I have from obsessive sunscreen reapplication and oil cleansing because that, along with my hair loss from accutane killed my confidence, made me feel ugly and abnormal and caused me to be so depressed I didn’t leave home for two years. I really hope no one else has experienced/will experience this, because it messed me up so much. I wish we had more videos of people correctly removing their sunscreen with oil/balm cleansers instead of being unrealistically excessive. Because that hurt me. And brands need to get their crap together and remember not everyone has dry skin and release some oily skin friendly options too with no residue or clogging oils! Salicylic acid in an oil cleanser would be a dream too. So yeah I’m terrified of sunscreen and sunscreen removal and don’t trust brands to care about oily people when to it comes to these types of products 😂

@@sambythecounter thanks for the suggestion. I bought the Buly cleansing water for oily skin on your recommendation. I went a bit crazy with that, P50 and clay masks and dried my skin out a couple of months ago. It was the only time my skin has ever been dry! Thank god for Boum Boum Milk. Considering my issues with oiliness, residue and congestion, which sunscreen from this video do you think would suit me best? I want something easy to remove and with the least texture on the skin possible, but also good to wear makeup over. How about first cleansers? Also do you find that B Wash removes sunscreen better than other second cleansers? Also have you tried the TBH Skincare makeup removing gel cleanser? Thank you so much ☺️🙏

@@nadined9282 Hmm, all of these sunscreens are fairly clingy to the skin, so I'm not sure you'd like them. But Sunbears is the lightest and most invisible feeling on the skin. For a first cleanse, especially when my skin is feeling extra oily, I really enjoy Cipher Cloud Melt. I'm not sure if b-wash is specifically better at removal, it's just far more gentle while still doing a thorough job. I've actually been meaning to buy a UV camera to test. No, I haven't tried the tbh cleanser.
