10 acres and 80% contained is not a problem. Most of these open fields they just go around the perimeter with a water truck and soak everything and the fire burns itself out. Did you see that road up against the fence, that is not there by accident, those are fire breaks.

Thanks for letting me know our wonderful homeless people really don't care how they act or what they do as there are no consequences (POLICE STAND DOWN) per higher people in our state. It's really such a shame to have people set fires and destroy so much. This has got to stop. It upsets me to see so many areas burning down. Maybe California should burn down as we're losing so many acres. Time to leave our sanctuary cities and states and we the taxpayers pay to NOT be listened to by the people that supposedly run this state. It's like a nightmare and we just go on and on with more and more fires.

I, like many of us want to know how these fires actually begin? Is it arson or does a burn just start on its own with no human help? We seem so unprepared and weak to fight these fires going on and on over and over. So sad to see all this and know animals are being killed and maybe humans. Buildings going down. We need much more help and there needs to be better forestry department maintenance and cleanup to prevent fires. Remember, only YOU can prevent forest fires (a line from Smokey, the Bear).

Fires are always started by something/someone. Arson is only one possible cause of fires. Equipment use (power lines, lawn mowers, welders, grinders, you name it), vehicles, structure fires that get into the vegetation, lightning, accidental ignitions, etc. Southern California has had just over 5000 fires this year between all the protection agencies, but you never hear about any except the large ones.

Satellites are spying all over the world. They can see where it starts. If it's by a road most likely a spark from a car or a hot tailpipe , a cigarette or arson. This is obviously right next to a road.

The investigators go about their jobs in a thorough, methodical manner. They don't announce a cause unless they have reasonably eliminated other potential causes. I'm sure you could find someone around there who would 'speculate', but they would have about the same credibility as most of the posters here.
