Prawn Thoran! An amazing flavoursome Kerala stir fried prawn with coconut and shallots. Must try for Easter Lunch..!
Prawns small to medium size cleaned - 500gm
Shallots sliced - 300gm
Coconut pices - 50 gm
Coconut oil-50ml
Mustard seeds -10gm
Dried Red chillies- 2
Curry leaves- few
Salt to taste
For Thoran paste
Grated coconut- 100gm
Turmeric powder-5gm
Chilly powder-10gm
Black pepper corns- 15gm
In a blender grind to a coarse texture without any water
In a clay pot heat coconut oil add mustard, red chillies and curry leaves add coconut pieces and sauté for two minutes add sliced shallots and sauté for 3 minutes add the cleaned prawns, salt and Thoran mixture cover and slow cook for 4-5 minutes. Mix well and check the seasoning. Enjoy with Rice or Chappathi.
