Cut 'im some slack. He's actually a very good teacher. Unlike some other "expert" youtube bass cadets, you don't have to watch or wait for him to finish foolin' with the dog, messin' with the kids, or playing grab-ass with the ol' lady, before he offers anything meaningful in his tutorials! Frankly, I find that much more annoying than this detailed, how - to monologue.👑🎸🎵

Those pick ups look dope.
@wasabifox5 жыл бұрын
What are those pickups?
@darkySp4 жыл бұрын
@@wasabifox Sims Super-Quad pickups. They're handwound pickups that can simulate a humbucker, single coil or split-coil pickups individually with a toggle switch and you can change the pickup types on each pickup independently. Pretty pricey, but you basically get all types of pickup configurations in 1 bass.
@86davy3 жыл бұрын
I was thinking that. Jackson style pickups but they aren’t jackson

I am learning bass from different sources, mostly from youtube, and they all teach using different forms of triads, for example, one would teach 4th finger G major triad without ever mentioning about 2nd or 1st finger g triad, and the other one would teach 1st finger g triad without menting others and which I got very confused about it. Now I know why there are many forms of triads. This video made it crisp and clear. Thank you for your effort into making this video!!!

I'm with Nelson... it's a free lesson and if you are just starting on bass very useful. I have been playing for a couple years and still found it useful and NOT boring.

These lessons are fantastic! I learnt bass as a kid, getting to a pretty decent level and working through a fair amount of the theory covered here, however after 10+ years of not playing its all gone. These videos are a fantastic reintroduction, or even just an introduction for anyone learning from scratch. The balance between covering the important stuff without getting bogged down is bang on, keep up the good work!

As a semi-pro level saxophone player in Montréal, Québec and a debutant/hobby bass player, i want to thank you Mark for your great lessons. Well made, with technical knowledge and straight-foward information. I am impressed by the number of rude and stupid comments ( it comes with the territory : internet, the stage for everyone, even stupid people! ). Sadly, a lot of people nowadays wants shorcuts and tricks to learn to play without practicing ( which is what many channels here are about )...It just doesn't work that way. If you want to master a instrument, there is just one way and it's knowledge and practice. Let them stay in their dreams...they'll still be playing in their garage in 10 year's time reflecting on how advanced they are playing by themselves, or for their gilfriends while looking at all their super expensive gear that makes them great....Merci Mark and keep up the good work!

This has just struck me as obvious but had never knew about it ! Within a beginning fret position using the 1 finger per fret rule then there are a host of available arp patterns with little shifting and of course the patterns are just moveable and repeating themselves ..seems obvious but I never knew .what a great tip.
