I’m new at this. After watching this lesson I realized I have no idea 🤷♂️ what you are talking about nor probably never will. 😲

These methods bring a lot of power to automation with just a few simple clicks or keystrokes. Excellent.

Marcus gives the most useful information without any, I mean any nonessential extra fluff just to hear himself talk. I appreciate you sir for not dragging this out for 48 minutes. Very professional

Recently switched to Studio One from Pro Tools. Ran through all the Gregor and David vids which are excellent broad stroke instrunctionals to show off the power of Studio One. They get users doing some incredible things quickly. I ran with those for a month and a half, wrote a lot of music and thought I was getting pretty good with the daw. Recently stumbled across your series of vids. Taking it to a whole new level. Power user. Well made, on topic. Stellar. Thank you!

Replying to my own comment-- With multi channel instruments with single track, select the channel paramater to be automated, volume, pan etc, once selected, in the upper left, drag the 'hand' icon to the desired location in the arrange view, it will either create a new track, or add an automation lane to the instrument track. So Cool.

How do you expand the automation lane just for a single parameter vs expand all parameters?

This is helpful, especially the H/Shift+H, much better than simply pressing A - thanks Marcus! On an almost related topic - I know we can select/deselect Volume and Pan as default automation lanes for any new channel in S1 settings. Would there be any way to add default custom automation lanes for, say an FX chain that you insert with a macro/keyboard command? E.g. a macro is used to insert a third party LowPassF, and by default an automation lane is added for automating the LowPass? You cannot store this setup as part of the FX chain, unfortunately.

how do you reset automation is studio 1? For some reason anytime I use automation now it isn't working right

There's no quick way to show/hide all automation tracks (not overlayed on top of midi/audio events) in Studio One (Unlike Cubase). Rather than have a single command to show/hide automation lanes (on all separate tracks), you have to shift select all tracks, hit expand automation and then deselect all tracks. 3 steps when it should be one. Not a problem if you don't automate often but if you like to see all used automation in a song but want to keep the project window tidy, there's no intuitive way to toggle show/hide all in S1. Hopefully they can add this simple command in a future update. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi Marcus! Quick question: how did you zoom the track to view @1:52? Great tutorial as always, by the way!
