What is also a Workflow Killer: forgetting to tick "move layers with track" off! Please consider this to be disbaled by default in the preferences! It is really a huge bummer when you forget to tick it off.

Hey Gregor, you hit the nail on the head with the zooming - that has been the devil's bane of working with S1 for me - possibly because I have used Sound Forge for 25 years and the zoom and navigation functions in that software is so different from S1. I will definitely check out the video you suggested on zooming. This is the workflow killer for me that rules them all.

I feel like it's more efficient to start from scratch however, you just inspired me to create my own templates! THIS idea I love! Just gotta take the time to do it! Thanks my bro!

here's a few feature requests that would improve workflow in Studio One 1. Implement a keyboard shortcut for the Channel List in the Console. The track has one, yet the Console doesn't 2. If i have multiple instances of the same insert on several and want to do a quick A/B bypass of them all currently we can't do that. Please give us a Bypass All Instances of This Plugin. 3. If i have several inserts on a track and the GUI visible of one of the plugins i can select any of the other inserts from the tabs at the top. That's great but what would be even better is having a Bypass button next to each plugin on the tab row. Quick easy way to bypass any plugin whilst the GUI of a different insert is open.

Hi Gregor, great tips, thanks! As someone who doesn’t like subscriptions, but has purchased and upgraded SO, it would be nice to see the template masterclass. After all, these classes don’t do any good to those who don’t own SO, so I feel like these should be available on KZbin, as well. Thanks again! BTW, one part of templates I want to know about is if it’s possible to have a group template (like a multitrack drum template, or a strings template, that you can then create a new song by dragging different groups into.

Studio One's workflow is clutch, in fact it's the main reason why I switched to it from Logic. But i do wish you guys implemented panning with the middle-mouse (scroll wheel button) in the playlist/arranger area like FL Studio and many graphic design applications do. That'd be perfect :)

8:50 What about 'Cursor follows edit position'? If this is enabled you can simply click on a region and the cursor will be set to its start. I have set a hotkey to enable/disable this option as often I want to leave my cursor at the same position while editing a part.

Patterns are great ,the only thing missing is when we extract tracks and use piano roll we can't pitch up or down and use it as a normal piano roll..Its like every instrument on Impact goes on the same piano roll when extracting tracks. and pitching triggers a different drum element. That simple fix would be dope!

two things that slowing down my workflow since the v5 update 1. Mono/Stereo button which used to be on Inspector/Mixer on each channel is gone for no reason so you have to zoom each channel to switch between Mono/Stereo on the arranger view 2. In V5, you have to alt/click instead of single click to view specific part of the Midi Editor. It was used to be the other way around on V4 and it was much better for me. Please at least make it switchable (alt+click or just a single click)

Edit: View -> Zoom -> Zoom to Selection Horizontally, or Alt-S. Is it possible to make clips in the playlist fit to the width of the playlist view region? Right now, using the mouse wheel to zoom the clip in and out always places the clip either too small, with wasted space to the right, or too big, so that I can't see the whole clip. I would love to be able to make the clip fit the window's view width precisely. I would also settle for being able to change the zoom increment to something smaller.

Very useful tips here Gregor. I have a question though: I created some templates but since the last update they have disappeared. I created new templates and again they disappeared when I next opened Studio One 5 Professional. I created yet another template and that seems to be stable but I wonder where the old ones have gone? Where does Studio One store templates? I have have studio one installed on a different HDD, not the default C:\ drive is that the problem? my C: drive is quite small and I have all my plugins on a dedicated F: drive

Dear, Is it possible to create more dense grid lines on the main project screen? Is it possible to customize tool options and workflow as in FL Studio 20? Many people are choosing and migrating to Studio One, because of better sound quality than in FL Studio 20. But the main barrier is diffrent customization of workflow with (pencil, eraser, selection - using mouse). If there would be any option to set the same customization of mouse workflow as in FL Studio 20 you would have 70% more users and clients. If there would be a possibility to open a FL Studio Project in Studio One 5 you would smash 'Image-line' very fast. If the producers that had created projects in FL Studio would reopen them in Studio One, they would migrate and stay with Studio One in 100%. Best regards. Konrad

Studio One is my favorite DAW. But for some reason, same computer Apple or windows versions I can load ProTools with say 25 real-time effects and it runs smoothly. Including a stacked master bus. Studio One begins glitching up when I get over 10. I have to disable my master bus until bounces. My work around is to continue rendering effects as I work, but that is my biggest offender of time wasted. Maybe it’s because AAX plug-in versions are less CPU intensive but this is still an issue on my newest powerful computer. If I could leave all my plugins active it would save major time.

Are keyboard shortcuts binded to the user account? Meaning, if I reinstall Studio One, will I have to reconfigure everything again? Those who use Visual Studio Code for programing probably have experienced the benefits of setting it once and have it available everywhere, it would be great if Studio One could do that as well with the most used custom settings.

One main workflow kller is that S1 permanently overrides user settings when it comes to exporting mixes and stems. Each and every setting in the window has to be stored in settings that belong to the song and not somewhere else. I can't understand how this can pass any form of quality control. And since the time you can export more than one format at a time exporting mixes has become even more annoying. It's ridiculous.

Good video, but when it comes to reverb, its usually used as a send effect, why not let it appear as a send effect? When you drag and drop the reverb, it should automatically appear as a send effect. Most people use it that way. If someone would like to use it as a insert effect, it´s easy to drag it to insert and close the send.

hey.. sorry i am demoing Studio 6 right now. The interface looks amazing but it lacks important feautures. It lacks scales in piano roll... at many places not enough feautures if you right click something. F.e a midi region.. whe i right click.. where is the save as midi option?? where is the import subgroup or project option, where are the level match to match what plugins do.. where is the export track the instrument and the midi as a performance.. and so on and so forth. Will not buy this. I have the impression that instead of contract more programmers and pay them well to make the product better... the company is focussing on making money and advertisement. So be it i am out😊
