You don’t need to give an introduction if you don’t want to. A lot of people have a short introduction they put in all their video descriptions, like “I live in the UK and I’m a former model, a mom, and I have been demonstrating and reviewing beauty products since 2010.” And they include their age, skin type. Then you don’t have to say it in every video. Your hair looks fabulous in this video!

You’re a beautiful woman and it’s so refreshing to hear of a woman in her 40s who hasn’t had tweakments. I have no issue with them whatsoever (it’s all personal choice and I completely respect that), but I feel like the majority of women I follow on social media (in their 30s, too) are using Botox and fillers. It’s lovely to see ‘another way’ and makes me appreciate it’s not a road we all need to feel we should go down. Thank you x

I get that new viewers may want an introduction and you can welcome them and point them to your “about” information on your website. I’m pretty sure new traffic there is welcome. But if you only want to say “hello” as your intro, that is fine too. Do whatever is comfortable to you! No need to put undo pressure on yourself... besides, you’ve been successfully doing this for ages without a detailed introduction on every single video. I think you’re good in whatever you choose to do! I’m loving a good recommendation on products video! If you want to do these type videos more often or have more than three products, I wouldn’t be mad. But I get testing every product takes time. Having a running list of your recommendations on your website for future references is always helpful. I appreciate your knowledge and time and effort you put in to trying and testing these products! Keep up the great work and do whatever greeting style suits you best! 🥰

Yes thank you so much, Ruth; perfect for this time of year, my personal needs and for explaining peptides etc with tip-led non-patronising way. Three products are ideal - I don't always have a lot of time to watch. It's already been said, but please don't feel you need to introduce yourself in any detail unless of course you feel want to that day.

I love budget buys. I just bought 2 of the 3 products that you recommended. I didn't order the serum (even though it's probably really good and I might get it for my mom for Mother's Day), but I really love my La Roche Posey HyaluB5 serum. I got a little sample of it in a samples beauty kit and I fell in love with it. It will be a while before I try another one. Thanks for the recommendations. I was already thinking of buying the ELF blush b/c I love the Nars liquid blush. I wasn't going to buy the Inky List cream, so that's a new recommendation for me and it's great b/c most good creams are really expensive. I do like the Rich La Roche Posey one, but for a drugstore cream it's still expensive.

Hi Ruth, I’m a new “subie” I would know if you can still feel the residual of your moisturizer /serum when you wash your face in the morning. I can still feel a film when I wash my face with water in the morning. Does it mean that they are not absorbed into my skin.

Please don't let anyone to pressurise you, Ruth. You're usually very funny and self deprecating, which I love about you, but in this video you sound a bit sad and defeated. Thank you for your recommendations and I'll be looking forward to more videos.
@susanleary18435 ай бұрын
Hmmm that’s interesting that you’ve been told you need to do an introduction. I’ve watched you for a very long time and I always thought it was obvious that you are a former model and who reviews beauty products, among other things… I mean what would you say at the start of every single video? It’s not like a dermatologist who has a KZbin channel and can say at the start of every video- “hi, I am Shereen Idriss a Board certified dermatologist… are you going to say hi I am a former model at the start of every video?
@rbaker3685 ай бұрын
Please DON'T do an introduction to yourself in every video! There's absolutely no need. People just want to get to the "meat" of the topic, and they learn what they need to know about you from your opinions and reviews. IMHO. I always skip through intros.
