Those of you that can sleep,walk and sit in peace should feel so lucky because I can’t do any of those without pain for the rest of my life, I’ve had scoliosis since the age of 8 and I’m 20 now

It's a great video,but I still don't understand why we should sleep on the right side if we got the right thoracic curve.I meant if our body is lying down on the right side, won't it even sink in the mattress and make the curve even worse?

It would be much more illustrative if you provide the exact picture of a proper pose and props (pillows, towels) positions for each type of the scoliosis at the same time as you demonstrate it by yourself. Thanks!

what helps me most is stretching throughly before bed, i have a mild s curve, it has improved over the years not really sure how because i didn’t do anything the doctor said :/ but pillow propping is very key! even implement it in your stretches, my favorite is to position my hips beneath my spine either by hanging my legs off the bed or using a pillow for my upper body, you get a very nice stretch by extending the tailbone

and when i say beneath i just mean on a lower level, that’s how you really stretch out the lower back, let the hips drop

thank you very much! im sure you saved many people through this😭🙏🏻 I really love the way you do and teach things but sometimes it can be confusing like in my case, the doctor did not say anything about mine being s or reversed. He only said its idiopathic scoliosis so which one should I follow? Hope you will notice this asap. thank you once again🙏🏻

You are very welcome , if you have an X-ray of your back you will find out the type of your scoliosis . But if you don't have an x tray you can do a slump test . I can make a video about that test in the near future to describe how to know your scoliosis type

Can you give advice for those of us with the added challenges of painful steel rods, fusions & painful large bone grafts & aging process pushing the few mobile vertebrae left that are locking up into worse positions. The rod is pressing hard into my lungs & heart compromised. Im in my 60s. Thank you for these videos 💕🌸

After having my son at 23 i got the disk bulging. Then over the years my back start to hurt and just found out at the age of 38 its scolisis. I have chronic pain everyday. I cant stand long, sit long even walk without feeling pain. Help please.

Hi Annie.. this video is relaxing and very useful. My brother has s-type scoliosis and he is suffering with pain everyday. I'm curious to know there is surgical treatment which can him to recover from that. I'm little with the experiences shared over social media about this disorder and post surgery impacts. Really in need of a hopeful recovery for my brother. Please

If the Scoliosis is more than 45 degrees angle then surgery is the option, however if it is less, exercises are great way to help with pain and to prevent it from worsening. I have a playlist of exercises, let me know if you want the link.

I have 2 bulging disks in my neck and curve around my lumbar area. I dont sleep good at Night's. If i sleep on either my left or right side i wake up with stuff neck. I cannot sleep on my back or belly. Im exhausted in the mornings. Please help.

I have a full c curve and it curves on the right side . Mr doctor told me to sleep with my brace on , so now I do this even with my brace as I sleep.

Oh thank you! I change positions a lot .. now I know to not get on my tummy! I think I change positions because it gets hot, but I truly dislike sleeping on a cold room...what could I do? Question. Would it be better for me to sleep on a firmer mattress or even on a thinner matress on the floor?

Firmer mattress is best and try sleeping on your back and for the room temperature cooler is better for deeper sleep

I sleep on my stomach because I can’t lie on my side as I am a full time wheelchair user and can’t position my legs to support me lying on my side. Lying on my back is uncomfortable because I can’t lie flat and am lying on my rib hump while the other side is raised

Just to clarify, If the curvature is on the right then I will put a pillow beneath the curve on th right side and then another pillow on the left to support the shoulder? I sleep on my back and have an S shaped scoliosis.. Thanks!

I got confused, which side should I be sleeping on? I have an S curve, the upper curve is between the shoulder blades with the curve/c on the right side and then bottom curve is in the lumbar region with the curve kind of left side but kind of twisted facing front...? My pain and stiffness is mainly the area between the base of the next to the bra strap area. I can never crack or stretch it out.

Hello! I am a 14 year old and have a moderate s curve (scoliosis), as well as moderate-severe degenerative disc disease in my neck. I am struggling with finding a specific and comfortable sleeping position. Often, I am very uncomfortable after 10 minutes of being in one position, so falling asleep gets difficult. Do you have any suggestions? So sorry to bother.

The Thoracolumbar spine is curve to the right, with Cobb's angles of 15 degrees and lumbar lordosis being strengthened. What is the best sleep position I did? I also have sciatic nerve Pain.

This is opposite with some other videos which show you should sleep on the opposite side of the curvature. For example, if the curvature is bulging to the right side, then you should sleep on the left side because if you sleep on the right side like in your video, it seems to curve more due to the matress being pushed down. I am confused now after watching your video.

Brian Cam lying down on the APEX or convex side of the curvature. It is the same with other videos . Maybe the way i worded it out ❤️there is a concave and convex side , convex side is How we measure which side is your curvature. if your spine is Rotating anteriorly to the left and curving to the right C curve , then you are Right C curvature so lie on your right with support on your right cervical and lumbar roller towels .

Brian Cam the mattress is Best to be firm to get support , if you lie on the concave side it Will promote anterior rotation and scoliosis is more the rotation that causes the curving

@@AnniePilatesPhysicalTherapist Thanks for your reply but now I still don't know which side I should sleep. The other video I watched showed if I sleep on the apex or convex side of the spine, the convex will exaggerate because the matress will sink a little bit even though my matress is firm.

Depends if you place a roller towel on your lumbar and cervical area to support and bot to cause a sinking in situation . That is why i have the rolled towel demonstration . The scoliosis curvature happens because of the rotation of the spine , so if you sleep on the concave it Will promote rotation . The sinking in is the side bending situation and the is not gonna promote scoliosis because you are preventing the rotation going forward of the vertebral body and backward of the spinous process .

Side lying on the right will a rolled towel on the neck area but if you are a back sleeper pillow on left upper back shoulder area .

I dnt know what is the C shape or best side to sleep. My doctor said I do have a positional scoliosis. I can feel the bony or bump part under the lower part of my rib cage on the right and feel the pain there. Which side position will you recommended?
