We were on a mission to visit the 3 best temples in Bangkok Thailand and we found them! Taking the Chao Phraya Express Boat is an easy way to visit both Wat Arun and Wat Pho which are two of the most beautiful Thailand Temples in the entire country!
One of the most popular Bangkok tourist places, the Grand Palace was a little more difficult to find. We didn’t end up making it in time to enter. We decided to come back the next day and we were finally able to explore the Grand Palace Thailand. We were shocked at how many other people were exploring it too! The Grand Palace was filled with the most tourists we have ever seen.
Our favorite Bangkok Temple was hands down Wat Arun Temple, otherwise known as the Temple of the Dawn. It is one of the only temples in Bangkok left that you can climb on. We got lucky while visiting Wat Arun because there weren’t that many tourists there.
A quick boat ride across the Chao Phraya River led us to another Buddhist Temple, Wat Pho or Temple of the Reclining Buddha. The Reclining Buddha is one of the most iconic figures in all of Bangkok Thailand and we were happy to see it. Wat Pho was pretty busy with tourists, but it was an incredible experience to finally see the Reclining Buddha.
In our opinion, the 3 Best Temples in Bangkok Thailand are:
1. Wat Arun - Temple of the Dawn (100 Baht entrance fee)
2. Grand Palace - (500 Baht entrance fee) Incredibly impressive, although expensive and too many tourists
3. Wat Pho - Temple of the Reclining Buddha (100 Baht entrance fee)
Unlike other travel vloggers, we live and work in a different country each month. Our channel will show you what it’s like to live abroad while exploring top tourist destinations and hidden gems. We will eat local cuisine but still find the best spots to have American food while overseas. Each month we rent an apartment or airbnb in a different city or country, so follow along on this journey and learn about countries around the world. We hope you enjoy our travel vlog, don’t forget to subscribe!

Stacia Sleight , it was bonkers ! Xmas means little to me for all sorts of reasons which is why I leapt on a plane on Xmas day. Arrived in Bangkock at around 10:00 am local time which was around a quarter past looney my time. The GP was heaving ! People everywhere and yet it was so tranquil and I felt safe and at peace with myself. I just looked back at my photos ( dam I was I had the kit I’ve got now )..... ah well all the more reason to shoot of there again. 😋

I’m Thai and want to tell you that no need to worry about pronunciation. 😸 Most of all Thai people don’t care it much, it isn’t a big deal, some feel you are cute when you pronounce it incorrectly. In fact , Royal Society of Thailand has install the certain Royal Thai General System of Transcription for romanising Thai words but that system might not strong enough to encourage the entire citizen in country to use that system. Not like “Pin Yin” romanising system of China that’s popular and all Chinese and foreingers can rely on it, everyone accepts it. P sound words always romanise to Ph, for example, ภูเก็ต is pronounce like “PU-GED” / “POO-GED” but be written “PHUKET” The Institue doesn’t promote this system much enough so it is used only in bureaucratic applications such as name of city, province, road, transportation, place, office etc. and small group of acedemic persons use it. 😹 So, pronounce as the way you got it.

Yes and these people are the same people that contribute to the Thai tourist attractions and shows and rides where elephants are used and abused and broken.. all these people are so occupied with themselves and self centred; they think they know where they are and that they can 'see' but they dont see and they dont look!

A Buddhist temple had existed at the site of Wat Arun since the time of the Ayutthaya Kingdom. It was then known as Wat Makok, after the village of Bang Makok in which it was situated. (Makok is the Thai name for the Spondias pinnata plant.) According to the historian Prince Damrong Rajanubhab, the temple was shown in French maps during the reign of King Narai (1656-1688).

I reccommend Wat Phu Khao Thong. It located on the top hill which is the highest point in Bangkok. By around the pagoda on the top we can see the view of Bangkok 360degree panorama. This temple is also one of Royal Temples. It was only one temple in Bangkok that placed relic(the authentic fragment of the bone)of Buddha (in the base of pagoda) from India in the reign of King Rama 5

You guys did an amazing job! This is like, one of the best travel Vlog I had watch recently. Welcome! I live in Chanthaburi east of Thailand(about 250km far from Bangkok) and would like to recommend if you have some time to visit :D Maybe not too exciting experiences here but it's quite meditative place with waterfall and beach(not as beautiful as the southern beach tho but it's calm and quiet.), mangrove pathways, old town near river and temple on the mountain(Wat Khao Sukim). Its quite a small town where many of our hipsters like to travel here and take some good shot lol.

Thanks you're really sweet :) You can ask me anything if you're planing to visit my hometown :D Thailand has 76 provinces so we have a lot more than Phuket, Chiangmai and Bangkok to explore. But I don't recommend you to go near the Malaysia boarder tho, it's dangerous there. For some info about Wat Phrakaew(aka.Grand Palace, the area where you guys visit) it placed at the outer area of our King's Palace and where the higher royalty dwell so they need to really carefully aware of tourist to some degrees. As you can't really messed up in those reign(Most Thai knows our tradition and we're aware of it but many foreigner aren't, just like Stacia's mistake to wear a pant with holes XD) And with more and more tourists every years, more problems also occurred so they decided to cut some parts off from tourists. And as we can see from your video here, Chinese tourist shouting and speaks very loud which is unacceptable in the Palace. ps. I apologized as a Thai people for someone trying to scam you. These people bring shame to many of us.

Woww.. we need more tourist like you. It's too much noisy from chineses tourists in Grand palace. I hope one day Thailand set the rules that tourists can not shout or yell in that area. Enjoy Thailand and see you next time.

It was crazy there. Everyone was very pushy and inconsiderate. It really took away from really experiencing the place and taking it all in. Luckily we got to enjoy the first two temples without many people around 👍🏻

For Thai, yes it crazy thing that we got noisy in temple. Because temple is peaceful area. We need silence to be peace in mind in Buddhist way. But Grand palace officer try to acknowledge to Guide's tourist on this issue as well. but seem cannot help. And I think we are know about Chinese accent , the language need to "loud voice" to correct the meaning. So large group , guide's tourist need to talk loud.

Hi Greg! Thanks man. In my opinion music is the one of the most important aspects of a video. It can either make or break it. That’s why I sometimes take hours just selecting a track for a video to be sure it fits the footage perfectly 👌🏻 And yes, we are definitely enjoying the trip so far 😊❤️

Looks like a few people already commented on the Wat Pho pronounciation, so I won't go there, lol. It's even worse when my friends hear me pronounce Phuket with a hard "P" and still say it like it's "F"uket, I think they just like saying fuck it, haha. Great vlog as always, loved it, and glad you were able to see Wat Arun without that scaffolding I had to suffer through, as I mentioned previously. I am so cheap when I travel, I took the yellow ferry for 16 baht down the Chao Phraya River, haha. II have just confirmed that I will be coming back in January of next year for four months, so I am so excited to see Wat Arun in all it's glory! . I am also happy to hear that you two are most likely going to see the Angkor temples, you will really drop your jaws then! I will never forget the hairs on my arm standing up and the chills I got when I saw the moat and the five spires of Angkor Wat. It will be something I think both of you will remember for the rest of your lives! I am really looking forward to those videos. Get a three day pass, though, don't do it in one, and take your time, don't get temple burnout, do a couple a day, at least that would be my suggestion! Safe travel, and I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us next! Oh, by the way, Ryan, I am curious to what lens you are using on your Sony A7 iii for most of your video? I am just going to be getting one right now, and I am seriously thinking of the 24-105, but can't make up my mind! I am so jealous every time I see one of your adventures, I want to be on one right now, haha.
@DeathByVlog

Hi Jay! Thanks for all that info! From the sound of everyone’s comments Angkor sounds insane. We definitely need to add that to our list of must see places. I mainly use the 70-200 but that 24-105 is a dope lens and very sharp. I hear nothing but great things about it. I just love the 70-200 for its constant aperture though. Makes shooting much easier at times 👍🏻

Excellent images you've got. Thx for the wonderful editing. You guys have a really good channel! But I would like to comment on your informations. First, the Grand Palace is not the older temple in Bangkok. Wat Arun is much older, we don't know when it was built, but it was constructed before 1800s. When Bangkok was founded after Ayuttaya's destruction, Wat Arun already existed in the area. We know for sure that Wat Arun existed since 1656 at least. My personal opinion: Wat Pho is my favorite touristic temple in Bangkok. The part of the temple you did not show in this video (Phra Ubosot) is one of the few touristic temples in BKK where you can seat for meditation at peace. Wat Arun is my second favorite temple for the same reasons you gave. The Grande Palace would not make the Top 3. I think it is very overrated. It is expensive, overcrowded and what you can see there is available in other temples around Bangkok for free or a cheaper price.

I agreed with you Tiago, Grand royal temple should be 1st order. All fine arts are made in this temple. It is not bigger than Wat Pho because it installed in Grand palace. but all many things inside there. For Thais this temple is the important temple. it is the first one. Wat Pho was build by 1st King. because there isn't' monk inside Grand temple. So monks from Wat Pho, the persons from palace can go to this temple to listen Dhrama or King invite these monks to Grand palace. Other kings will not make other temple bigger/beautiful than this temple.
