OMG, it's you! I remember you and that WD-40 bike and the greatest commentary line ever when the bike burst into flames, "... oh no, what is happening to my golden marriage prospects ..." You're awesome, bro. Now I have to binge watch your channel.

I’ve done quite a few track days, had a lot of fun but still slow. I’m out of my comfort zone easily. Mac senior has told me some gems. “ Don’t do anything that will frighten the bike, when it was chucking it down, you generally go in a straight line when you get wheel spin, when the front wheel steps out, you had a little moment there. I’m thinking defibrillator . Still do a few track days each year, but only after pension day.

💯 agree with you about the brakes. When you watch a novice on track they roll off the throttle, coast, then brake, get on the throttle then apex. The first place they can easily shave time is on the brakes. Like at Circuit of the Americas going into turn 1, a lot of novices roll off the throttle about 250-300m before the turn then coast up the hill. Same for turn 12, rolling off the throttle around the 300m marker and coasting, lots of coasting. Talking with novices they usually don't know about picking braking markers or what those 50, 100, 150, 200, etc. signs/markings along the hard barrier mean. And braking is one of those skills that can save your bottom on the street. Now that I've found your channel I'm going to have to start pointing people to it because your rider analysis is excellent.

great video as always, agree with these points entirely, I think for me the biggest mistake before even getting to track is simply attempting to learn the track layout before hand, id say 70% of issues can't possibly be prevented before getting there with track knowledge

@ChasingTenths Hi Abhi, the wide entry to Paddock Hill bend is caused by lack of reference points on the approach so you aren't confident with your turn in. I humbly suggest the Marshall post on the far side, visible before the entry crest, and the pit exit white line mid width. Thus you know your trajectory while the entry is blind over the crest, and down the hill. Ride safe!

@ChasingTenths Welcome Abhi. The RSV-4 anti wheelie will look after you down Paddock Hill once you get confident with the apex so can stand it up for full gas down hill, and up to Druids... Great to see your collaboration with Taylor.

Brill, would love to see this as a regular thing. The comment about opening the throttle to 100% and allowing the electronics to work - is that right out of the turn rapidly/smoothly to 100%?
@tmac77
@tmac77 14 күн бұрын
That must be balanced with standing the bike up to get off the edge of the tyre and onto the fat part. Definitely not when you’re at maximum lean angle. Just imagine your throttle is connected to the tyre and you should match opening the throttle with standing it up

One thing to always remember when you are learning. When you short out a corner and increase your speed through the corner, that will mean you will arrive at the next corner a lot quicker, so your breaking point may not change so much for the next corner.

Thanks for the video Taylor 👍 Bit of an off-topic question and maybe the rider can answer this but which Track day firm does the full circuit at Brands? MSV and No Limits only advertise the Indy circuit on their sites...

@@scrooge8564 Cheers Scrooge! It always says Indy in the calendars on their websites, so it's put me off booking. 4 groups rather than 3 is a bit of a shame but I might get booked on this year now.

@ this was my first time at brands, and even though it was a beautiful sunny day, there were about 40 red flags throughout the day and it was this which was the only session which wasn’t red flag so we eventually got 3 to 5 laps and I was all over the place so I will go there this year and I will see with this guidance Taylor has given, if I can be much better version of me. But you are spot on., I am absolutely all over the place lol
