Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that the most well-known Bossa Nova standard was Blue Bossa.

The three mentioned had their origins in Brazil and were performed both as instrumentals, and sung as popular songs. To be brief as possible, Blue Bossa was inspired by Brazilian Bossa, but was written by an American jazz musician. It was not as well known by the general public, but it’s straightforward use of the Bossa rhythm combined with a series of typical jazz 2-5-1 progressions make it a great introduction to both the Bossa style and jazz improvisation, so BB is far more well known amongst the comparatively smaller community of improvising musicians. I was able to predict all four of these tunes before watching the videos, 3 as most popular and BB as an essential introductory jam…….next in line were Mas Que Nada, Chega de Saudade, and Desafinado for me…..

for the melody of black orpheus you should be playing G# B E in the second bar and G B E in the sixth bar to stay truthful the original melody. also it just sounds better, more melodic
