I have been going through pain reprocessing therapy for a while for 10 years of chronic back pain. Along with it l have been instructed to try meditation and breathing exercises. This video is by far my favorite. I plan on using it daily. Many thank for sharing your knowledge ❤

@@carolBelmont-r7t thank you for your feedback! Pain reprocessing therapy is wonderful, and it’s great to hear that you are also including meditation and breathing exercises along with that. I do believe it takes a multidimensional approach to manage pain!

❤thanks so very much. I got a severe case of shingles that has been traumatizing me for just over three weeks. Since I am not getting enough exercise due to the severe pain I am experiencing my body is in the flight or fight. I experienced a reduction in the pain. I’m going to keep on doing this. I appreciate you sharing this tools for me to use to help my healing ❤

Hey, thank you very much for this. I have a tooth infection right now and my mouth is so very uncomfortable but there’s very little that I can do to sue that so this was a nice way to help cope.

Glad to hear you found it valuable! Yes the important part is to practice when there’s little to no pain, so that when pain flares, you know *immediately* what to do. That knowledge of having the tool itself is SO helpful in consoling the anxiety around pain too 😊

Thank you for the practice. The humming breath was great but I have some issues with the other exercises as my pain originates from the nose following a surgery in that area 15 months ago. This makes it painful to touch it or do fast inhales through the nose.

Thanks for the feedback! I’m glad that you found the humming breath helpful! There are a few other breathing exercises you can try that hopefully won’t irritate your nose. I’ll post the links below!

When you feel like your butt is broken and you’ve been literally stabbed in the back, you start to think about the shame that was cast onto you, it was reinforced that you were lesser of a man while working a 60 hour work week physical labor, in school, and pursuing other hobbies everyday. You work so hard and everyone around you constantly tells you you’re no good, you’re a waste of life, you don’t deserve to be a human being because you will never be good enough.. then you hurt yourself from working too hard. Boom, chronic pain forever, you’re lucky you can walk.. lose all relationships lose career, can’t go to school.. it’s not just the physical agony, but the shame and feeling of defeat, feeling like a loser because you ruined your own life, and all the people that were gaslighting you won.

I'm so sorry for all of your challenges. Nobody should be made to feel like they are less than and not enough, and that definitely adds to the emotional pain on top of the physical pain. It is unfortunate that many people don't believe in chronic pain and the way that it can completely upend and ruin someone's life. I don't pretend that I have the answers to chronic pain, but am simply offering some tools that my clients have found helpful in managing their pain. If there's any guidance I can offer you, please let me know.

I assume the three practices can only reduce or heal mild to moderate chronic pain, not severe chronic pain related to past trauma or PTSD.
@elaine_yogatherapy Жыл бұрын
Hi Roy! Thanks for the comment! I don’t claim any of my videos and practices to completely heal chronic pain or chronic illness, but as ways to manage some of the more challenging symptoms. As you mentioned, past trauma and PTSD are much more complex, and require many other interventions. These particular breathing practices can be helpful in calming the stress and anxiety of chronic pain enough so that the person can strategize their next steps. Hope this helps!

Just wanting to add my 2 cents in hopes to be helpful. I live in chronic pain from RA, lupus, and psoriatic arthritis and have also been diagnosed with complex ptsd. These practices absolutely help reduce pain and in essence are a form of meditation and the only time I’m completely pain free is when I’m meditating. I have been meditating for many years and the effects are cumulative so stay with it and see how you do.
