Is that some slightly different version of biscuit dough? I always thought if your biscuit dough got to the point where it was stretchy then the gluten was overworked? When I usually make biscuits I do no more than pat and shape, then cut, never actually working the dough.

One, let the cute Westie have some whipped cream! And two, I was just going to ask how you got your models (including said Westie) to have the same manic smile? 😂 although, if you want to make a nice cake for your pretty boy, buy lean mean of your choice, finely chop it, mixed in cubed boiled sweet potato, add a beaten egg, use an oven safe round cookie cutter and bake in the oven in however many layers you want. Then you take either boiled white potato or sweet potato and whip it with chicken broth (homemade/unseasoned) until you have fluffy whipped potatoes. Then layer and frost and you have a perfect doggy birthday cake. I do something similar for my cats’ birthdays. It looks surprisingly similar to a normal mini cake, I even pipe decorations to add the celebratory air.

Well I loved this because when my sweet son was 6 years old he saw the bake and fill pan advertised and it turned out to be his sweet Christmas gift from him to me🥰. I do want to mention that there was a paper insert in mine with amended instructions for temperature or baking time depending on cake mix used I believe. I made a spice cake and filled with apple pie filling. My sweet son also saw commercials for turbie twist and hair combs which appeared as either birthday or Christmas gifts as well. He is now 28 years old 😢so this episode was very special for me ❤

@@jacforswear18same, kind of. My issue is with putting thick/dense foods inside of raw meat that can’t be overcooked, e.g., cheese-filled burgers or poultry with stuffing (as Alton Brown said decades ago, stuffing is evil). However, if the meatloaf is fully cooked before being layered with mashed potatoes, that’s probably fine - kind of like an inside-out shepherd’s pie.

Man I’ve seen some videos of people who don’t know how to bake doing things like this and it is so refreshing watching someone who knows how to bake using this pan. Not that the other videos I saw were bad, this was supposed to be used by everyday people so I think videos like those can give a good insight into design flaws. But man it is so much less stressful to be an audience member who knows less about baking than the person doing it instead of knowing more

First and foremost, I love this series! I find As Seen on TV products highly amusing. Many ads are my guilty pleasure because of the camp factor. Second, we’re around the same age, so I also remember the ads of this cake pan back in the mid ‘00s. I’m glad you gave this pan a fair chance and managed to create some tasty cakes. Maybe not up to your typical standards as a pro baker, but I think they turned out better than expected.

First off, you are fun to watch for a first look into your channel. Sharing the reason I bought this pan many years ago... Porcupine Cake - a chocolate cake made in the more half ball shaped pan and a 2nd run in the oven for the insert alone - filling the inside like a layer cake. The idea was inspired by colonial amarican folks who shated a porcupine cake with family friends during the holidays. I later went crazy, baked only ib the rounder half ball and turned the concave side up, no filling, dabbled in some peaks of icing and sprinkled in blue edible glitter to make a Geode (like a rock geode) cross section for a kid's birthday. Disclaimer: no edible glitter should find its way onto a cake intended to have candles blown out. No ball of flame like I've seen in videos since but what a mess! 😅

I really like the idea of roasted strawberries! That sounds really good! I made a strawberry pound cake recipe by adapting a plain pound cake recipe. I've been requested to make this cake for two of my brothers when they got married.

You’re always fun to watch, but Omg, I LOVED this video so much! Yes, please do more of these. Love the vintage vibe and those pearls are everything girl! So, I have a cake pan, not an “as seen on tv” item, but it’s been in my family since Kennedy was in office. It’s a 3D lamb cake pan. Mine is made of heavy cast aluminum, two pieces with loops on either end. Every attempt I’ve made has been a disaster! Either It won’t release from the pan, ears get crispy or fall off, broken necks, won’t sit upright, is either underbaked or over baked and once decorated…well, it looks more like a Halloween nightmare than a happy little floof. If you’ve ever seen Charles Phoenix’s hilarious “Meatloaf of Lamb” video… it’s the same type of pan, except his is the lighter weight metal version. I’ve put him out to pasture for the last 10yrs, but he mocks me every time I open his cupboard. Help?

What a fun video and such interesting, unique recipes! I LOVED seeing that advertisement as a kid, I won't lie. I wanted a set for myself! Also, it's really nice to see someone who looks like me making such great content! Your outfits are superb and you're so confident and cool. Seeing you do what you do helps me feel confident too

Really enjoyed watching this program! You are a very knowledgeable baker and it was very fun hearing you talk about this process. My mother made a lemon meringue to die for!!!

Loved your video. I'm looking for the Pilsbury Bundt cake recipes from the 70's. Long time before you were born. Ask your parents about the Bundt cake kits you could pick up in the baking isle next to the premade cake mixes. Also curious about the vanilla extract you used. Yes, I know the whole 25 cent tour about Vanilla. Thanks for sharing.
