I can remember helping my sister make a firehouse "stovepipe" bread in a coffee can that had some cornmeal & dill in it, it was very good and had an unusual texture. This pan would be perfect for that. I'm not sure why you didn't just coat the entire thing with sesame seeds, so you could have them all the way around, and I imagine if you had turned the bread over halfway through rising, it would have risen more evenly. Now I want one! I have an antique glass rolling pin, with a cork on one end so you can put ice in it. I can imagine storing both items on the counter, one inside the other, wouldn't that look interesting? I love the idea behind this pan, and bonus: you could use the edge of the pan to guide your knife to make perfectly even slices!

Had one of these 76 to 78. Used to bake a loaf of bread for Communion at college.

My Mom used to make us round bread in a can the same size as traditional loaf pan, just round. I loved when she'd make us French Toast using it. 😂 Fun to go down memory lane.

Subscribed! Question--Chef Jean-Pierre smears the interior of the pie-pan/plate with softened butter before placing the dough/crust in--what are your thoughts on that? Thanks!

Oh my gosh, that looks amazing. I’ve never made brioche, but I think I need to try these. I’m gonna look for your recipe.

Hey Erin! I appreciate you making a vegan crust, I saw this in your cook book Savory Baking. I'm currently making your rough puff and a bunch of other recipes as well. I made your pogásca which was approved by my Hungarian partner! He loved it. I would absolutely love to see more vegan recipes and substitutions so I can make even more of your recipes. I'll make and bake as many as I can!

My mom had one of these, a Christmas gift in the 70s, I think. It actually made good French baguettes. The hardest part is putting the dough into the tube and ensuring there's still room for rising.

Do you have a video on various rolling pins and how to use them and which is best for what?

Please more bread episodes. My son-in-law is our resident sourdough baker and I'd love to share your ideas with him. I bake the sweets, lol. And that 70's vibe you were totally rocking was adorable. I love those "good for only one thing" gadgets. Thanks Erin.

I bought one at the resale. Still in the box, like new. Had terrible time getting it out of the tube. It stuck. So now I shape dough in parchment paper for the last 30 minute rise. I spray dough with lil water and add lot’s sesame seeds on top. Slide into tube, not greased, cover each end with dish towel for the 30 minute rise. Into oven on cookie sheet she goes. Slide right out and was so good. I don’t remember which recipe I did to be honest. It’s been about 3years. I’m sure it was a no-knead version.

Put the sesame seeds on the bottom of the bread before putting it in the tube? I would put the sesame seeds on a piece of parchment paper (partial), put doigh on and insert into tube.

I made your breakfast sandwiches today with the everything seasoning and all, and they have ruined all other breakfast sandwiches for me. They are so delicious and simple enough to make even before coffee. I love the way the brown sugar in the biscuit dough disguised the baking powder flavor. Just 11/10 recipe all around. Thank you for sharing

Oh Erin!! What a beautiful beautiful film. Made me quite emotional towards the end thinking how much more I wish I would have gone to my nan’s when I was a teenager to bake with her and things like that as I only remember doing a few things like that with her. Making butterfly cakes (uk), or caramel cornflake squares where she’d make a tray, cut them into little oblong pieces and put them in the freezer and after dinner my grandad would have to suck on them because of his teeth 😂 I loved learning about your family and you are an exceptional lady!!!! 🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤ xxxx
