Great video as usual. Good to know your knowledge on how these point and shoots work.

Hello SanTM, people manage to tear film all the time without a motor drive but a motor drive does not really add to the risk. not pushing in the rewind release button and misaligned sproket holes are significant causes of damaged films. 35mm film was originally a cine format where frame rates are typically 8, 18 or 24fps so 5fps shoukd not be a concern. there were slo-mo cameras before there were digital or video cameras and they whipped the film through very fast. the thin emulsion films like Vision 3 or the old HIE use an estar bsse which is very strong. i can't think of a "weak" film i would be worried about. Maybe I'd check the spec sheet for some of the more left field emulsions around today like Washi etc. An advantage of a motor drive is torque is kept constant which should help with reliable film transport. All the best MVC

@@mostlyvintagecameras4323 ah that all explains it really well. Didn't think about the cinema reels in cameras and how fast they'd be going. Always knowledgeable as ever !

i just got into film about two months ago, and so far ive picked up a konica auto s, a pentax k1000, a konica auoreflex tc, a minolta freedom AF, and a pentax IQ. ALL for less than $75 USD TOTAL just from thrift stores, antique shops and Mercari. There is no point to disposables anymore, and you've proved that point!

Impressive results from an ugly point-and-shoot. 😊👍🏻 And I agree, cameras should be possible to use more than once. We have more than enough plastic in this world. Keep it up, you have a great channel going here. Greeting from Norway!

Just to add, agreed on ebay sellers who sell as 'used' but say untested or no batteries to test it with. I feel it's actually worth getting a battery a for a few quid (multipacks on ebay are really cheap) to test out the camera you're selling. Everyone knows how to use a viewfinder or a flash, it doesn't take a genius to work that out and pre test the camera. If you can say it works and you include the battery it also helps you with a higher price. Just saying...

Hello, Indeed, I feel however some "untested" items have been tested all too well and found to be broken but sellers are trying to maximise the selling price by passing them off as used rather than spares or repair. Not in every case of course but some items I've received are clearly broken, no testing required! All the best MVC
