Unfortunately Toyota and Honda are making big mistakes with throwing a turbo on everything as we already see from the legendarily reliable v8 tundra by throwing a V6 turbo. They are replacing hundreds of thousands of motors now. I'm afraid they are going to be like every other car brand you're going to have to pick and choose through the reliable models in the near future. Basically no turbo will be your long-running vehicle

Had a 2014 Subaru Forester (from new) both rear axle bearings replaced, front right axle replaced 1/2 litre of oil in 6000 km considered under their threshold of a litre in 11000 km so not seen as "excessive" consumption. Now have a Mazda CX5--far less trouble than Subaru (having put more miles on Mazda than whole time we owned the Subaru). Love the Mazda only complaint is has to be the WORST key fob--ever!!!

I am writing this before watching the video: Lexus, Toyota, Mazda, Subaru are all above Honda and Acura in reliability (also in low TCO=Total Cost of Ownership, except maybe Subaru). Yep, even Lexus is better in TCO than Honda (plus Mitsubishi and Suzuki outside the US).

Honestly I think Subaru is decent but I wouldn’t say it’s better than Honda because it’s hit or miss with some of there vehicles as well, Mazda yes I agree it’s nicer than Honda, and for far as Toyota ehhhh as long as it’s not the newer style Tundra or Tacoma otherwise yes somewhat, but honestly even though Korean cars aren’t much better than Japanese but Kia and Hyundai can be better than Honda on some models though such as: Kona, Santa Fe, Stinger, Pallisade, and Telluride why because Kona and HRV aren’t much different than each other, except the Kona is a lot nicer, Santa Fe is basically like a CRV but nicer in some ways not wild about the square style Santa Fe, the Stinger is basically the S2000 in sedan form, which is something Honda needs to bring back, but unfortunately Kia did away with that model as well, and Pallisade and Telluride are basically the Pilot and Passport but nicer as well, and I feel like Mazda also is nicer than a Pilot and Passport when it comes to Cx5, Cx7, and Cx30, Cx50, and Cx90! 🤷🏻‍♂️

@ Okay let me ask this: Have you ever driven or rode in Kia and Hyundai before? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Before my wreck I had a 2015 Honda Civic Lx it had 91,540 something miles before it died otherwise I would have still kept it if it wasn’t totaled and lastly knock on wood I have had a 2014 Hyundai Elantra Limited with now 55,800 miles as of tonight for 2 months now and it’s been treating me well, I have read other people’s comments about the cars including the Facebook group I am on, some have said the same thing as you but otherwise if treated with proper care: Some Hyundai’s particularly the Elantra can get up as high between 400,000 miles to 1,000,000 miles if you don’t believe read one of the comments of what a woman did with her Elantra I was shocked otherwise the maximum limit is between 200,000 to 300,000 miles like Honda and Toyota standard, so okay with the recalls, theft issues, tell me what modern Kia and Hyundai as of recently has acted up with engine failures, transmission issues, and fuel pump issues, because in the past it would have had held true, but my particular year model had the least amount of those issues shockingly enough even though it’s apart of the 2011-2016 generation as a whole, so therefore Honda is only better than Kia and Hyundai because of the longevity history of reliability but it’s slowly becoming less true on the 2022-2025 models of certain Civic’s, Accord’s, and some Acura’s as well, but anyways I don’t think you see the potential of these cars at all, if they were that bad why do people buy them I have friends with these cars none of them have complained I have friends who own Honda and Toyota same thing so it all goes by maintenance in general! 🤔
