Thank you KaneR for typing up the logic for these matches! It made making this video much easier. Also, gold star if you find Fblthp, and chicken nuggies if you found him on your first watch through of the video.

I was had by puzzle two. I hadn't considered that the discard ability can be done at instant speed. Nenzumi shortfang seems like an interesting card for discard strategies in EDH such as Tergrid, as forcing discards at instant speed is actually relatively difficult and can be really strong for keeping opponents hellbent and in Tergrid's case for getting juicy permanents to be discarded without a chance of just being played.

My problem is I glossed over the land entering tapped, so Nenzumi has a chance.

@@LibertyMonk Haha yeah only 3cb is why I can recall the text on depletion lands. Or I guess that Mississippi river deck can use them too but I don't really follow legacy

Isn't this format usually played in two-gme rounds? In puzzle 2, if the channel player goes first then they win. They can play channel with ula waiting in hand while nezumi still has summoning sickness.

In the actual tournament these are played in two game rounds yes. For the sake of keeping these videos shorter, we look at just one game in each puzzle

The Shortfang should have flipped, right?
@MTG3CardBlind10 ай бұрын
Yes, in the lines I showed where the Channel player discards down to zero cards, the Shortfang would flip. It might have been better for me to call that out specifically, but the point of demonstrating those lines is to show that the Channel player would nolonger be able to cast Ulamog through any means, which means the Shortfang player would win in those circumstances regardless of whether the card flips or not.

Cool concept here, really like it. I was able to figure out the first two but not the last one. Keep up the cool puzzles.

Player 1 Deep-cavern bat/mox jet/mutavault Vs Player 2 Bitterblossom/Small Pox/Peat Bog What's the result? I seem to disagree with the current one
@MTG3CardBlind11 ай бұрын
I agree, it looks like there was an error made there. The match should be a tie regardless of who goes first. Deep-Cavern Bat will take away the opponent's Bitterblossom. If the opponent wants the Bitterblossom back, they will need to cast Smallpox, but when they do, both players will be left with no lands and no creatures. I will go ahead and fix this now. In the future, we have a dedicated part of the discord channel that exists specifically to hunt down errors, so if you find anything else that looks like an issue, I highly reccomend reporting it there. Thanks for identifying this mistake and good work finding it!

@@MTG3CardBlind Thank you! And don't thank me, I'm only looking after my own 5 ELO points :) I asked to join the discord channel, but since I got no response and didn't really know how long the window for the revision lasted, I shot here. Next time, I will pass all of them through the discord. Thanks for the response and for the effort placed on this league. It's kind of a pretty cool format and I will try to make a point of playing every month
