And this is why I wonder why clarinet isn't a instrument allowed in my school's jazz band.
@whoitisnot8 жыл бұрын
+SheepPeep I can relate. My professional life is with the clarinet, but not in jazz. If my otherwise excellent middle school band director had allowed me in the jazz bands things might have been different. He said, "play sax" - I gave it a try and it was easy enough at that level but something that felt right for me. I should have found a good teacher who was a jazz player, but I ended up as a band director and classical player/teacher. Good enough, I have no complaints, but there is still that what if....
@kellypurdue19906 жыл бұрын
I think he issue is that the "jazz band " in school is really Stage Band and it has a set instrumentation. Clarinet and flute don't show till the saxs get asked to pull out their doubles...

@mrjimmienoone21306 жыл бұрын
I agree. Pep has this clean, precise phrasing, and a wealth of ideas. And I know that Anat Cohen can play better than this - but I'm simply not fond of her style; she phrases very carelessly, generally, and some notes seem to come out just by chance.
@jacquesdeghorain31626 жыл бұрын
