According to the law, the average of the results obtained from a large number of trials should be close to the expected value, and will tend to become closer as more trials are performed. More than 50 trials will give you a NON FALLACY.

The Law of Large Numbers is actually one of the first concepts we teach in our Trading Course. You are 100% correct - the more trials you have, the more likely your actual results will mirror the expected probabilities. However, it's important to understand that the actual results don't merge towards the expected probabilities because of some balancing force at work. It merges towards the expected probabilities because there is more data to average into. But yes, rolling 60% heads and 40% tails is much more likely with only 10 trials than it is with 100 trials. You're right on point.

i just started with an individual brokerage account jan 18th of this year, and i would have to say that coming to grips with the psychological dynamic is something that i am still working on. so far, i would have to say that i have been very fortunate (lucky), and i would guess that the learning will never end. i have learned quite a bit, but of all of the things that i have learned so far, i would have to say that being calm, cool and collected, as well as being patient have been the most important things. something that i feel that i have going for me is that the money i have put into my brokerage account is money that was sitting in a savings account, doing nothing, so it is not money that i need for survival; it's just money that i am trying to grow as i near my early retirement, which is just under 32 months away. my hope is that once i reach my retirement date, that i will have not only built up my savings, but that i will have learned enough to, perhaps, supplement what my retirement funds will provide me. my one wish is to find a friend, or associate, to answer the many questions that i not only have now, but am sure to have going forward. took a lot for me to watch this very informative video before starting this long comment. hopefully, there is more great content within this poster's vids and message board....

One thing I’ve begun doing with regards to social media and KZbin investing videos is to avoid stocks I see being hyped. Instead, I will look for a similar company, do my research on them and invest when I find one I like. When a particular stock is being hyped; unless you happen upon it in the early stages, you’re going to lose. And if you hold on too long to a hyped stock; you risk losing a large portion of your profit. The other thing, I’m not stuck on “this is a day trade” or “this is a swing trade”. I base my exit strategy on how much I want to make from my investment. Set a percentage increase that triggers a sale just above where you want to be. set a point where you sell once the price drops again. If it continues to gain, set a threshold (-2% for example) to lock in profits once the gains peak and don’t stress out if it bounces back and goes higher - look at the profit you made and realize it could have been a loss.

I was that 1st kind. Recently I was offline for a bit and a news came out from finance minister and almost every stocks rallied up to 13% and when I saw that news 15 min later stocks were already up.. and that was most frustrating as I lost a great opportunity, I could take leverage and gain huge profits but damn... I overcame that fear and convinced myself that I'll get better opportunities..

My problem is I started out trading paper and made 1,500 to 2,500 every day for several weeks. So I was really pissed off when it didn't work with real money. Even more pissed when I would try to lose paper money while trading real money and still getting reverse results. So i know I can make that money but my emotions won't let me.

Hello! This is very common -- keep your head up. In my experience, this happens more when the trader is trading more on intuition and less on an actual mechanical trading strategy. Having actual trade mechanics in place can help control emotions and that "intuitive style" of trading which is so hard to find consistency with longer term
