Mine was the hot wire on top of the selonoid wasn’t getting enough power. Changed the wire and problem solved.

How can you tell if the starter bad?

@@terrymitchell4579 one way is that everything comes on but the truck won’t turn over. The lights on the dash come on the truck cycles thru on the dash board and the horn works but it just won’t start. Also someone can underneath the truck and use an ohm meter to test current from the starter.

You’ll have to pull it out and look to see if the connection is broken or get you a fuse tester.
