Time. Time. Time. I’d recommend listening to John Gray frequently 🙌 it’s so important to take time… that’s what creates bonding… not everyone will bond to your personality/values/direction and that’s a good thing! You want the ones who don’t fit with you or are dangerous/users to be RUN OFF… time will do that! But time, with someone who loves your personality and values and you love theirs and the fit between the two of you… time only adds to the connection. There’s so much that the field of psychology offers all of us regarding psychoanalysis. 90% of atypical behavior in interpersonal relationships is driven by this. You’ve basically got two bona fide narcissists describing the downfall of their relationship. Look no further for clues why sometimes things just do not work. Period.

He’s a dating coach mostly for available people. His job is not be a psychotherapist assessing and educating people on a personality disorder. If you (or anyone else) is with someone who has a personality disorder and is not in therapy/treatment, then it’s YOUR responsibility to walk away if you feel the dynamic is toxic. Secondly, dismissive avoidants are essentially emotionally unavailable people. They are walking red flags but people (usually women with codependency issues, low self esteem) choose to ignore the signs.
