Ok...I will teach you.if you don't know the firing order just follow me and I repeat how to set the valve setting rotate your engine to the right and observe the valve.THERE ARE TWO VALVES WILL BE OPEN and remaining cylinder is on the top and apply valve tappet clearance.(TWO VALVES must be FULLY OPEN) example:if the valves from cyli.#1&2 are open the top is cyl.#3. after cyl.3 just rotate again the engine same action of the valve.you can observe the exhaust valve from cyl.#3 to be fully open and you can see the intake valve from other cylinder is also fully open.the remaining one is on the top to apply tappet clearance.The same on next cylinder.ithank you for watching.i hope will.you understand.

I have a Yanmar 3 cyl engine that looks very similar. Because there is no spring to hold it, the exhaust valve on cylinder 3 has side to side movement of .032" so the lifter is not always centered on the valve cap. It makes noise and the valve clearance clearance is different if it is moved from one side to the other. Can I shim the gap between the snap ring and the lifter to keep it centered on the valve? If I use a .025 shim, it will leave .007 clearance, is that sufficient?
