3-D Offset Hammer re-release Bowling Ball NON-STAFFER NEUTRAL REVIEW

Hi everyone! I'm back with another bowling ball review, and there's no better ball for me to review in my first ever Hammer Bowling Ball video than Hammer's rerelease of my favorite ball ever - the Violet 3-D Offset!
As I mention in the title, I am NOT a Hammer staffer.
I don't really care if you buy one of these or not. I'm not trying to sell you anything. I'm not trying to make the ball look good. I'm not showing you only strikes. I'm just doing these reviews for fun and I hope watching them is fun for you.

I pre-ordered this as soon as I heard they were releasing it. I've got the OG on my shelf, it was my first 700 ball, 1st 279, 1st 289. A ton of great memories with it.

That's exactly why Hammer needs to hit a home run with this ball. They're not just selling a bowling ball. They're selling memories and nostalgia. If that type of ball flops, customers are much more likely to get pissed off about it.

@@Swish710 Speaking of chunks I remember a guy I was bowling against in a tournament had chunk taken out of his 3D Maxxx. Favorite ball in his bag, on his way to making the cut.

Just drilled this ball last night and I have the same thoughts. It’s just a tad too dull. BUT I think I’m going to let it lane shine a bit before I adjust the surface to see how it does. I like that it gives me lots of miss room. It smokes the pocket when it gets there but not a lot of messengers, so I think it’s definitely burning some energy downlane. Maybe I’ll make a video.

That's what I did. As I mentioned in the video, it hooks about 2-3 boards less after you get a few shots on it (a good thing in my opinion). I put a couple of games on it and it worked fine, but I decided it was still a bit more cover than I wanted it to be. Maybe I'm just looking for a replica instead of a new update. 😁

I've been looking for something to replace my Track 715c. I think with a little surface manipulation, it would be a good replacement

As a two-hander you probably would rarely, if ever, need something stronger than this, so I completely agree. This could be a great "top of the arsenal" ball for that style.

@@Swish710 that’s exactly what i was thinking! perfect for top of the bag while most solid (or sanded) asyms are too much for 2 handers. i was borrowing my grandpas original 3d offset for a few moths and fell in love with it

I use compound on my Pearl balls, with good results. I wonder how it would react on this one?

Not sure, I haven't used compound to shine a ball in a long time.

@@Swish710 You should give it a shot on something you have laying around. Different effect than polish. It gives a tacky feel, that lasts a while. I also apply it by hand.

The new one hooks more, hooks earlier and is a bit rounder in the shape it makes on the lane.
