As always Brent a great video. Welcome to the 901 family ! They’re a great machine, very capable and I love mine. Just one thing to make sure your rear ABS cable is secured away from the rear tyre along the rear brake line using some cable ties. From factory they eventually move and come into contact with your rear tyre and wear through the cable which causes failure of the ABS/TCS system and won’t allow you to change ride modes till it’s re-spliced or the cable is replaced.

Brent, I have the same bike, and used the same panniers for a while. I absolutely love this machine, and have done the Colorado BDR, lots of off-road touring around the Rocky Mountains, and a little bit of road work as well. After the BDR, I ended up selling the pannier system, and changed it for the R40 (which, with a Stinger 22 is a R58) - more than enough space for multi-day trips, better handling and clearance, and dropped something like 11-12kg. Looking forward to your adventures on the new whip!

Nice Brent, beautiful countryside I’ve followed the same path for the last two bikes, 701e and 901 Expedition. Two questions if I may, 1 - Did you fit alternate racks for those bags or manage to use the factory triangle ones? 2 - what did you think of the factory tyres? I’ve been surprised at how well they do in many conditions - including the gorges in the Flinders Ranges.

Hmmmm I don't think I'm going to do a bike review, there are plenty of better qualified people. I haven't done a ton to the 901, it honest works well pretty much out of hte box. This is what I've done. 1) Throw out the stock Husky luggage and panniers which are garbage 2) Installed Outback Motortek pannier rack + Mosko Panniers (which I love). 3) Installed Perun rack on the back 4) Barkbusters 5) Dirt Tricks Cam chain tensioner (got rid of cam chain noise totally) 6) Enlarged side stand foot (for soft sand) 7) Carpe Iter Tablet and Adventure controller That is it... There is nothing else that I'm looking to do at the moment other than ride it. I'm leaving on a 3-day ride tonight, but that is on my 701 (as it is a more technical ride). But I can't wait to do more camping off the 901 and longer distance touring.

@brentbat2 ай бұрын
@@thecorporategypsy My first impressions are overwhelmingly positive. I was super impressed with it's offroad handling (on some pretty tough tracks)... and on the road it is a dream. Touch wood..... I don't have a single negative about the bike so far. The other thing that kind of surprised me was how relatively easy it is to pick the bike up when you drop it. I lay it down in my garage just to see how hard it was to pick up, and it was easier than my 701. I think because the fuel is down low, it makes a big difference. But just so comfy to ride.... there is a bit of heat that hits you from the engine if you are going slow in traffic etc., but once you are cruising you don't feel that
