@@sadlife8495 It’s so sad. We learned the most when adults weren’t around. When I was twelve my parents started taking myself and some friends up into the mountains and leave us by a stream for the weekend. We had sleeping bags, some plastic tarps, food, and our fishing tackle. We’d go up Friday after school and the last word from an adult was “ We will see you around dark on Sunday, don’t do anything stupid”.

Ah man, you're hand, it's blistered and burned. That blister is something else man, take care. I once drove an ATX through the jungle in Mexico with no power steering, after a few hours the whole middle of my palm blistered and came off. It made doing everything on the rest of the trip less than awesome. Also, I appreciate your magnanimity concerning your guests foibles in the woods. I like your easy way with people, my dad was always a nightmare when things went wrong. In another few years of tank camping you might have fostered a gator crew worth their salt, in the mean time uncle Lars takes care of all, even with one hand. The Pink Ninja's spoon is awesome. Lars, I have always found that camping, at least for me, is good for the soul. Camping with other people however, someone always forgets something. Sometimes it may be as simple as a frying pan or two, or as crucial as a tent but it is generaly inevitable. Even though there may have been peices of the starter sprocket in the bell housing, they would most likely have been too small to affect anything if you bump started the S.R.V. and drove it home. Your children are blessed to have one of the coolest dads ever! Hiw many dads can take his family camping in a tank?! SUPAH SUPAH AWESOME!!!

Average life span for a Russian male is 65.1 years (though it is 76.5 for Russian females.) Average life span for an American male is 78.5 years. Russian Dad needs to tell his son to not smoke and drink in moderation as those are the main reason why the life expectancy in Russia for men is so low.

Lars isn't Russian. He's supposedly Scandinavian, but he looks Eastern European. His wife is Russian, I think. What I need to delve into is the bug situation. You see him all geared-up with mosquito netting and suffering from the heat in the summer, while his wife and kids are out there in shorts and t-shirts, like there aren't any bugs around. Weird. I don't know if he's messing with me, or not, but he's mentioned their apparent immunity to the bugs. That's the thing about those wide, beautiful spaces in Alaska. When it's not cold, there are mosquitoes big as your fist determined to exsanguinate all mammalian life forms, especially humans.

LOVED this. The knife thing was cool. I used to drive a bus with this old man who grew up in the Philippines during the Japanese war as he termed it. He said they used to make knives like that with bits of downed planes. Even the kids, it was the thing to do to be cool, you know, to make a knife with your dad and go hunting for Japanese. For real, like at eight years old...And yes, I asked him...and he talked about the coffee in the break room...anyway he was a nice guy and they were defending themselves. Your family is beautiful and bad ass at the same time. I think the pink ninja's spoon looked great.
