Welcome To Survival-Russia. One of the very best Outdoors and Survival related communities on KZbin, and yes, It's a pretty good Channel too.
My name is Lars. I'm From Denmark but I live in Rural Russia now. I live at a Homestead in wild nature surrounded by a huge forest.
On The Survival-Russia channel we do all things related to the Outdoors Lifestyle. I share my thoughts and experiences on Survival Techniques for the woodlands of the Northern Hemisphere. the Reality of Survival. I share Techniques and ways of the Siberian Tribesmen and the Russian Longhunters of the older days. Things not shown outside of Russia very much.
On this Channel we also do Off-Road driving, Vehicle builds, Metal Detecting, all things Outdoors basically. Enjoy!

Exactly! If you wouldve asked me 15 years ago that it was normal to watch a man shelter in the snow while youre taking a shit at home, i wouldve absolutely called you crazy... but i bet that out of all these views, a certain number will have been sitting on the toilet at some point lmao. ...so basically quite like in that old Russian joke, when a guy in Yakutsk goes into appliances shop, and asks for a fridge - the clerk looks at him as he was out of his mind, and the guy explains: "nonono, not for food, you see: it is -40 outside, -10 in my flat, and +8 in the fridge - I'll use it as a foot warmer!"

I spent a night in very simple snow cave high in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. I simply dug into the snow that had accumulated on the lee slope. After digging about 4 feet into the snow, I hit the ground, so I made a 90 degree right turn and dug out a tunnel of about 6 feet. The tunnel was higher than the entrance. That night, there were high winds and the temperature dropped to about minus 20 Fahrenheit. Inside I slept in a minus 20 degree NorthFace Polargard sleeping bag inside a Goretex bivy sack. The bivy sack was great due to the melting snow dripping on me all night. It was very calm and pleasant inside despite the high wind and frigid temperatures outside. I spent the night with the sleeping bag unzipped and me half out. I believe that I could have been fine with a plus 30 degree Fahrenheit bag. It was a very enjoyable experience.

My older brother and I used to build snow forts (shelters) all the time. The hardest part was finding the right materials to give the fort (shelter) enough structure to not collapse during the night. The temperature differential of -20F outside and +20F inside always made them sag. The best one we ever had was arranging some dead standing into a teepee and then piling snow in circles up to the top. It took hours to build but held together for months.

The truth. I am a bit upset about the "rewilding evolment" have told so many misleading stuff about wolfs (lie by omission, and such...at best ) , that a lot of people actually think they are just as an misunderstood dog. Well. (Expect the really strong instinct , that is...) Anyway. To make a shelter in this kind of cold, is just impressive. It is hard to phantom how cold it really is, without standing in it for a while. It can be really cold in Norway to , espesially some places. I have felt how it is so cold it is hard to breath, and even the lashes freezes to ice . But still...To sleep in that type of could...

Ok But how about that first bite of the warm food and knowing you made the shelter and are warming back up to re-expeience such experiences for the first time in days Remember back to when you had not eaten, but can taste your favorite meal in mind Imagine working on top of that to have the taste of all the flavors of the food pop The hypnosis of a warm dancing flame while embracing the suck of the situation enhances the subtle gifts of life commonly over looked natural flavors of baked / steamed potatoes with herbs and garlic, salt, butter with ham or making Ше to then bed down Life like that makes a man fall asleep deep and quick

@@user-mj5ef7ym6x you are 100% correct, I plan on doing a survivalist weekender, I remember those feelings from when I was with the scouts as a youngster, I think every man should do this kind of survival at least once a year!

When 'I'm doing an overnight in Northern Quebec "Kuujjuaq" I bring my dogs, 4 Northern Inuit Dogs they are similar to Husky's they keep me warm and well protected. You should get a Siberian Husky or two, your wife and kids will love them. You know it's cold when its a 4 dog night, no fire required

Right. Spooning others or dogs help big time. I learned in the Marines that's it not gay to get 3 or 4 Marines under a wool blanket to stay warm in freezing temperatures. Got to stay toasty and doubling, tripling, or quadrupling body heat can mean the difference between freezing or staying warm. It sounds funny but it surely works.

Thanks for the thermometer! I really liked that. I also liked your humor and honesty. These videos give me an idea of what my Great Grandfather fought in during the Revolution in 1917-21. My Grandmother used to talk about the cold while on the train through siberia.
