I thought that to, what she did was very dangerous as the fire could have weakened the flat slab of snow, sleeping in a mummy sleeping bag she wouldn’t have stood a chance of survival.

Always make the roof completely even, and smooth, or it drips. Also, shape it as a doom because then water runs down the walls and not dripping on to you. ALso, a snow cave will drop a bit, so, you should have some headroom.
