​@@Swedwoods I was hoping I'd see some live snow happening & @ 10:54, got my wish. My area went through a doozy snow & ice storm the other day ( 1/31) & it left a mess & a 1/2. We're "scheduled" for more possibly this coming Wednesday (2/5) & maybe Friday too. It wouldn't be so bad except for the clean up!! Me & some folks spent a good hour or more trying to chip away @ all the ice left behind & got it so it was a bit safer after Rock salt & sand, but it wasn't much fun to do in the freezing cold! Anyway, cool stuff as usual Swed!!

Thank you for this new video. I would recommend to avoid any plastic product asap. Low temps for aplstic bags are not a problem until > 40°C. But high temperatures causing a future health problems( e.g. a lot of microplastic in blood ad flesh tissues). Yes, we live in the plastic age. That was my first lesson too with microplastics. Anyway good and relaxing video.

Thanks! The manufacturer claims they are safe for boiling water. Pretty hard these days to know more than that without going crazy and mistrusting everything. I had a friend who refused to enter a warm car in summer because he claimed you inhale microplastics released from the hot interior. Who knows? But me personally, I read what I can and draw a line from that point because I want to live life not hide from it.

Makes watching your channel a priority👍👍 I know you're an expert at what you do but having to put up with all the wet and sloppy conditions there must be frustrating at best, at least no bugs this time of year. Totally different here, we pray for moisture of any kind, lucky to get a few inches a year. Glad you're back! How do you keep meat safe on your multi day excursions? I'm always trying different things and looking for better ideas. My climate is a little warmer than yours so it's a lot of freeze dried, canned, and heavily processed meats for me. It's getting old (and it's not too healthy). Thanks!

Happy New Year, great video. Doing any outdoor activity in the cold and damp is tough. A good idea with the freeze dried meals. I have started doing my own dehydrated ones to cut back on the cost.

Tack. När man är ute var och varannan vecka har jag märkt att man får bättre resultat om man smörjer ofta. Även under vandringen. Smörja kängor är inte bara för att hålla väta ute utan för att minska slitage mot sömmar/fogar när man vandrar i obanad terräng. Torrare fötter och kängor som håller längre.

Dessa kängor är dessutom sprillans nya så då får man smörja varje dag för att de annars blir för hårda och skoningslösa mot fötterna. Har även mjukgörande fett med mig.

I don't like to put hot things in any kind of plastic, maybe I'm just paranoid. I just use wet moss to clean dishes. Snow is good for cleaning too (and as a toilet paper substitute).
