Any horror story set during a war can be scary in of itself but when something otherworldly happens on the battlefield, that just makes it a lot more creepier.

If you like podcasts, The Magnus Archives is a great podcast to listen to. It's a fiction podcast about an archivist who doesn't believe in the paranormal, but works at a paranormal research institute. There are some episodes based around wars.

My birth country had a Civil War when I was 4, so many of my uncles are veterans. One said that the paranoia of being at the frontlines seriously messes with your mind, especially if you know you could end up facing someone you know on the other side. He used to still see things for years after the war was over.

The closest word I can think of in German that the soldier said was "Der Koloss," which is translated to " the colossus/gigantic" Truly terrifying what he could have seen to have described it as the colossus. There are other words for gigantic, but during this period, the word was more used than we see today.

@jenx5870

If they enter your threshold, they aren't there to bake you cookies. Get to know your state laws. I live in a castle doctrine state. Some have a duty to retreat. Whichever laws you have, follow them, but you have a right to defend yourself from imminent threat of death or bodily harm. If someone breaks into your home and threatens either, you generally have a right to shoot them. Again, read your firearm laws ahead of time, but having a firearm to protect yourself in your home is your 2nd Amendment right. When seconds count, help is minutes away. There is a saying. I would rather be judged by 12, than carried by 6. The USCCA has attorneys who will represent people who are involved in self defense shootings. A person just has to pay membership dues, which are cheap, compared to gym membership, Starbucks, and other things. Don't tell the police anything after a self defense shooting other than they broke in, and I feared for my life, and I want to talk to my attorney. There is nothing wrong with recording that interaction. We have the absolute right to feel/be safe in our own homes.

Apparently , there is a theory saying that when you wake up for seemingly no reason it is because your brain detects that someone or something is watching you , which ties in with the first story Edit : Sorry about my bad English
@jenx5870
@jenx5870 Жыл бұрын
It's because your ears or nose are picking up sound or smell from your surroundings. Our brain is constantly picking up stimuli from our surroundings, even while we are asleep. It's how we are able to incorporate songs from the radio into our dreams, or the dog licking your leg or face into a dream. It's also how we're able to wake up to our alarm, or if there's an intruder or a fire. It's our body's way of self preservation. If it completely shut out all external stimuli while we slept, anything could sneak up on us. In the first story, his brain picked up on the rustling of the man under the bed, the door opening, or the scent of the man. If the story were true, he would have been caught sooner, because most people snore when they sleep. It's involuntary, and something that can't be suppressed. Even if the man is a side sleeper, it's hard to breathe quietly once asleep. Especially while under a bed where the air circulation isn't as good, and the body's response would be to mouth breathe to get more air.

I was completely engrossed from start to finish, and I have to admit, I may have jumped a few times too! 😅 The narration and storytelling were top-notch, creating the perfect atmosphere for a haunting experience. Story 1: What kind of nutjob breaks in and sleeps under some random little kids's bed? Story 2: The "thing" could have been a German soldier who was nuts from some experiments the Germans did on him. They were known for doing that crap. Story 3: Just another example of the importance of having a fence and locked gate(s) around your backyard. 😇

The “tall thing” may have been some sort of cryptid used in experiments, as there’s tons of mysterious creatures in Asia especially in nations such as Russia and Afghanistan.
@jenx5870

1. Very few do so in the suburbs. 2. The tall thing could have been a bear whose shadow blended with the shadow of the trees, and was seen by drunk, scared soldiers who likely have PTSD. The Germans were already wounded by a landmine or artillery. 3. Forget the fence. He was trying to break in. What about a gun?
