Yeah it was a bit commercialized and in our face. I was entangled in the invasion the guys north of Kuwait, and folks made money off of fear, propaganda, shock and awe. No doubt it was good for us troops but it was also a knee jerk reaction and we got taken advantage of. We are still hungover from this twenty year sandbox fiasco

The Japanese said that they just awakened a sleeping giant. Right after the attacks on pearl harbor December 7,1941. That day the United States entered World War II. It was a day that would live in infamy. Of course we all know how that war ended.

Hold me while I'm scared, Vietnam has there songs and they are AMAZING, but, THIS IS MY DEPLOYMENT SONG. I've been deployed 4 times, and just started to fuck my life up, it's 2024, I'm 50 and I am lost. This video slowed the innocent, but they didn't show the deeeeeep dark side. I was rated, I was killed there, in the last two years I have destroyed my family and anything close to me, lol friends won't even respond because of my alcoholism
@sheilarodgers7214 ай бұрын
I am so destroyed our beautiful vets aren't absolutely loved and cared for and about, by our public, our government, before, during, and after duty. MANY of us do what we can. Vets should have everything they need to help them recover as much as possible!!! Our country should cherish them. Our political system has always exploited our military. It's a shame. Our military are our country's protectors! I have vets from the Revolutionary War under Washington, who were imprisoned on the Jersey, who survived, the Civil War, the New Ulm Masacre in Minnesota, Frontiersmen, on up thru WW2, and Korea, and family friends thru Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria. I do believe if a soldier has a family, the family deserved to know, to try to share the pain, the recovery. My father, a Korean vet, as were his 2 brothers, never told us what he went thru. He destroyed his life, and our family thru alcoholism. 2 of my 5 siblings died young before him, another died 4yrs after my father because of his torture of us. We wanted to help him, be his family; isnt that what were here for? He kept it all Inside. We Are stronger than he thought; atleast I am. We should have recovered together; a family. I asked him so many times to share. He let his Vietnam vet friends share their gruesome stories with me, a "female" , but a hard as nails female. We watched Vietnam on our TV as the war was unfolding, watched World at War, Civil War movies, read the same WW2 books. I've seen so many real footage documentaries, I watch true War and crime, study for my criminal justice Bachelors degree. I've seen family dead, and I know its not the same as being there. We at home can't live it the same, but we suffer without our military loved ones, suffer not knowing what to do to help when you come home. It's torture!! I wish vets would share with their family members. Most of us want to know, to try to feel and share the pain. It makes it easier to understand, and recover. Back in the old days families suffered together. Our country was stronger then. My great uncle never shared either, but his kids kept trying, to know him, as I tried with my father. He told my sister the last year of his life. Not fair. I've told my children everything, good and bad, I've gone thru, all I know of our family. I have tough as nails children, survivors, tho their father tried to abuse them. I got my father sober for 1 yr. He got weak and relapsed, lost all he gained, died alone, and still fucked everyone up who tried to be there for him. I wish you'd pick yourself up, keep moving soldier, improvise, overcome, adapt, find a way, 1 second at a time, ask for and seek out help! I got that from my father. I'm grateful for what he did give me in that. That attitude has kept me going thru my hell, to be loyal, honorable, strong in this world, good or bad, for my kids, my grand kids. I am a beast and nothing, not even death, can separate me from them!! I endeavor to persevere! I don't have friends; they come and go. I have my family. Read Tecumseh! I wish you the best in life, peace, acceptance of yourself your experiences. We're ALL human!!!! You've done your best so far, now do better; strive to excell and be the best you can be despite adversity! Never give up, never let the bad win! You can do it!
