I worked at a movie theater for several years. Always interesting working the late shifts and seeing all the strange people that come in. Craziest thing that happened was someone dropped their gun during an argument with someone else in the lobby on a busy Christmas Day rush. Dude picked it up and ran off after everyone saw it.

I used to take my niece to the movie theater. I remember one time her saying: “Uncle I need to go to the restroom.” She would tell me not to worry and stay watching the movie. I explained to her that I refused to let her walk off alone. She was only 10 at the time. She didn’t understand why. I escorted her to the restroom and waited outside in the hallway like a body guard protecting a celebrity. Let me tell you something. Predators all they need is a random opportunity to get your child. I trust no one. Not even my own shadow. Take all measures necessary to protect your kids. Don’t leave them alone in the movie theater.

Obviously strangers can be dangerous, but the perception of danger is distorted and these kinds of stories (even though true) support this distortion. The data is very clear on this one: Danger to kids comes from their own family. Overwhelmingly violence against children comes from family members and other pepole wthin the inner circle of trust. These people exploit the trust and their position of power. I don't know the exact number but I would wager that 9 out of 10 acts of violence against kids come from within the family.

my first job was a theater - i have a million stories from it, ranging from creepy to funny. We were trained multiple times a year on suspicious individuals, and were trained to report ANY doors propped open - the first story gave me chills from the beginning because of that training. we’d do active shooter drills yearly, and have to assign our own positions on what we would do (ushering guests out, etc). the supervisors would check behind the curtains right below the screens nightly as there was storage behind it, and at least once a year there would be a story where someone found a homeless or random man behind the curtains sleeping. we were told no backpacks allowed in, to treat anyone recording the layout of the theater as suspicious, all that fun stuff. One night was the creepiest of all - Every night we had to wait for each theater to drop before leaving: nobody was allowed to close alone. So if we let in the last movies at 10pm, we’d leave around 12am. With all this free time, when the right closers were there we’d connect a Nintendo Switch to an available screen and play games, specifically smash bros. One night we stayed until 2am, hours and hours after the last theater dropped. We would laugh super loud, yell at eachother over wins, enough to be heard from outside of the theater. This random couple walks in unbeknownst to us, and eventually I get a weird feeling and look back. I was terrified to see strangers so far past the last theaters exit check, and I tap my supervisors shoulder to get a load of the situation. We questioned what they were doing so far past close and they gave no answers. Said they were curious and were watching us for a while, just “enjoying.” Before we could ask more questions they just walked out and my supervisor made sure to follow them out. To this day I wonder wtf they were doing in the theater for 2 hours while we were distracted

The waiter was dressed in 1922 clothes he was quiet but very polite. We were the only people in the theater that night. They said it was haunted we just laughed it off. Not to spark anything major here, but to be fair God did allow Job to be tormented by letting Satan invade his life, testing Job’s strength and faith. You can’t build muscle or other things back better without first breaking them down first. People can and have gone back and forth on these discussions forever, at the end of the day it’s all based on what we choose to believe. Many of us choose to have faith that there’s more to life than just emptiness that ends with a black void, and everyone has the freedom to disagree with it as they choose. We’ll all find out eventually ✌🏼

I have worked in theaters my entire working career and they really are some of the creepiest places. Projection booth is dark and quiet so any noise gets amplified and are terrifying. The stories told by some of the overnight cleaners we paid for, who barely speak english, about seeing figures in white move in front of the screen and towards the emergency exits at like 6am when no one was there but them. The worst was the time someone made a drain-o bomb in the building. Brought in a colored liquid in a gatorade bottle (looked like gatorade but was drain-o), they bought 2 hot dogs (which we served in foil wraps), and then part way into their movie put a foil wrap in each of two bottles and left the theater. Two pops later and people fleeing, cops with shotguns sprinting in, and concrete with carpet dissolving. Guy ended up getting caught and charged with terrorism and such but since he did it in theaters in multiple states the feds got involved.

It blows my mind to think that a movie theater can now be a dangerous place to go. You would think they would have better security and alarmed doors for situations like what happens in these stories. Also, in the first story, I don’t care what year it was or that the kid was only 9 years old. Any 9 year old should have common sense to never trust a stranger that lures him to his car for some “free candy”. Smh 🤦‍♂️

My brother used to work at a big theater years ago with 20 screens, most of the horror movies were played in 16. Most staff that cleaned in 16 have their own stories now reporting moving objects and feeling like they had been tapped on the shoulder. My brother was checking the sound system in the booth for 16 while a movie was playing IT the new one. He said he heard the people talking and looked to see a figure shadow on screen. But no one was standing in front of the lens but he was the only one in the booth . He checked outside the booth but no one was sitting up top and the window is to high up anyway. Employees kept reporting strange occurrences in 16 until the owner himself was in it one night and stated nothing was wrong to the employees, then a screech like a woman screaming was heard (turned out to be a cougar) My brother quit and a few weeks later the theater was closed. He still does not have a clue what happened.

my thoughts exactly, so a cougar has just been chilling in one of the theaters screen rooms? That sounds implausible because its not like they’d sneak by unnoticed and they’d start going after food pretty fast, not just watching a film like IT over and over. I live in a rural area w/ tons of mountain lions and they normally make that child like screen when in heat or after prey.

there are theaters in my country which are known to be haunted as well. one of which was rebuilt after burned down to the ground and said to claimed several casualties. it's still exist today and people had different scary experiences in that movie theater; from an old janitor lady passing outside the restroom during midnight show to a smell of burning flesh. it was closed for sometimes during lock down but it open again recently after locked down was lifted.

I’ve worked at a theater for a few months now. Since my very first day working there other employees have talked about it being haunted, particularly the projector hallway. One person even said they had seen things up there. There have definitely been a few times, especially when I’m alone in an empty auditorium, when I have heard and… felt things that I can’t explain. And just recently I was told that an employee had died there a few years back.

Strangers weren't much of a concern? "A different time"? I grew up in the seventies and believe me, strangers were a big concern then, even in the 80's. Serial killers like Ted Bundy, and Henry Lee Lucas, roaming about, we kids got reminded by the parents, by the schools, by the local police officers who would visit schools in the persona of "Officer Friendly. By the kids tv programs, we even had tv movies stressing the dangers of hitch hiking. 'Stranger Danger" was always a big concern, for obvious reasons. Maybe it was your "different time". Compared to mine, it sure was.

The theaters in my country (west Europe) are seldom ''desolated'' but when I visited NYC I went to two movies during the mid week, just to get the american cinema experience. I was so impressed at how big everything was and how EMPTY it was between 9-12 PM, with almost zero staff. I watched logan and King kong, and in both movie booths there were like 5 people. I was skeptic on the title of this video thinking, cinema horror stories? how bad can it be? That's one of the things about America; everything is so big and spacy that crazy people have more room to hide and creep around.

I was binging these videos last night to scratch a "true horror story" itch when the theater front entrance picture at 5:05 felt very familiar as soon as I saw it. Turns out, it is! I'm 99% sure that's the Drexel Theater in Bexley Ohio, a place where a friend of mine worked for a few years while in college. Really cool to see it in a video like this, though I don't imagine it has any other association with Story 2 (fortunately).
