I've been listening to all the episodes of this podcast... It's great. So many podcasts out there on trauma are from the professional's perspective (the therapists or the trauma researcher) rather than from the trauma survivor's perspective. I love that this is hosted by trauma survivors and James and Wade relate to the conversation from where they are in their own recovery process. I go to group meeting with other trauma survivors and this podcast sounds like the conversations I have with my other fellow trauma survivors. I really appreciate the added support this podcast provides.

This has moved me to tears. The deep ways I resonate which each of you is profound! You each articulate things so incredibly well and they are things I’ve been battling my whole life. I never in my life thought it would be possible to feel this understood and validated. The gratitude I have is hard to sum up in words. I cannot thank you enough for this podcast. Great job James, on striving to feel your feels, and understand what your going through regarding your emotions, and trying to express them in healthy ways, AND for realizing that anger is not a bad thing, is healthy, and there for a reason. Congratulations all of you for getting this far in your healing journey. You talk and focus on how far you have to go yet, and what you want to work on yet, BUT take the time to Pat your selves on the back for how far you’ve come. You’ve already come further then most can ever imagine, at the beginning of THEIR healing journey. Keep on keeping on, and you’ll get where you want to be, guys. Your all in my prayers, and your not alone in your struggles.

Happiness comes and goes, based on circumstances, I’ve found. It’s peace of mind and contentment that I’m striving for, with emotional literacy. I’m thinking the flash backs will always be there, and were there long before I realized they were even there.

Commenting to try and help boost the algorithm. More people need to hear these talks, and spend more time thinking about trying to heal their own trauma and negative trigger reactions. Or even Jist realizing what behaviours of theirs are actually flashbacks and trauma reactions, so they can then learn to deal with the guilt that follows for having those reactions, and possibly learn how to control those emotions and flash backs.

Richard Grannon is a male survivor of childhood sexual abuse. He doesn’t talk much about his sexual trauma, but he offers some online courses in emotional literacy, healing trauma, healing flashbacks, breaking trauma bonds. His education and insights far surpass any trauma specialists I’ve experience talking to here in Canada. He has a course called the “Spartan mental health protection fortress program” (I believe it’s called that, or close to that) you should be able to find it by just tying in Spartan mental health coach. I’ve been watching his videos for years, and they have helped me immensely. He does cover many many different topics, so a person may need to scroll his vids to find what they are looking for, but odds are he has the topic covered. His techniques are very simple and easy, but surprisingly they do help, regardless of the simplicity of the technique. Just throwing it out there for the people who are home bound, and or don’t have access to a therapist. He’s helped me a lot with understanding, including understanding my self, my own personality type, and what makes me susceptible to being abused as an adult, if I don’t deal and heal my shit.
