This video goes to show you how important muscle memory is! You take away a drummers muscle memory and it’s like hitting the reset button on years of practice. This deepens my belief that young drummers benefit greatly from simply sitting down behind the kit and spending time getting familiar with the various sounds the kit creates.

Talking ´bout the Paiste shirt you gave me?? 🤣 That reminds me of a school music festival in the early 80s, I played percussion in a school band with a friend, he played drums. The teacher who coached the band after us told us to leave the old Rogers kit set up for his drummer, who now called us his drum roadies... 🤬 so that they could immediately start their show ... I have an e kit at home, and it has a wind chime sound effect. You could really screw someone up with that. It also has sounds of a man saying 1, 2, 3, and 4. I guess you could use it as a weird metronome, but each sound has to be set to a different drum. You have to sacrifice half of the kit for it.

I want to see if you guys can do this: ⤵️ *Solo:* First play 16th Notes at 100BPM. Then play: Right Left Right. Right Left Right Right RightLeft. *Repeat* *Group of Three:* First practice on 100BPM then, once all three drummers are well coordinated with each other, switch to 132BPM. *Left and Right Mirror each other.* Right Left Both. *Hit middle drum for both with both sticks* Right Left, Right Left. *Right Left drummer hits middle drum with their drumsticks individually on “Right Left”* *Repeat* Middle: Right Left Arms Up. Right Left, Right Left. *Repeat for 28 seconds* Finale: Left and Right hits both their drums and the middle drum three times. And the middle drummer hit his drum three times. On the last hit, all three drummers raise both arms up.
