3 Easy Finger Drumming Beats!
Today I'm showing your 3 easy finger drumming beats that you should learn. The first is an incredibly simple beat, but is one of the essential building blocks for progressing your skill. The second and third beats are a little more advanced, but will help you develop consistency playing faster notes with both hands. Let me know if you have any questions, and enjoy the video :)

This is certainly a great starting point for learning finger drumming. You kept it simple enough for a first instruction that it should be well within the reach of most yet varied enough it should help with keeping interest in the material. Plus it gives the added benefit of having three useful beats instead of just one which definitely increases the payoff for anyone investing time in it. Well done.

Thanks for this. Actually a great starting point. I already know that pattern 2 is going to be the trickiest one for me. I’m a lazy keys player, and have never got my left hand working properly. And that is exactly what the second pattern tests. Well, maybe time to break some bad habits!
@FreeBeat

Glad I can help. I suspect number two is going to be the trickiest one for most people, because it involves that independent bass drum note. Just got to keep practicing!

Thank you this is the first tutorial I’ve ever watched on finger drumming… I’ve no idea why you’d think we’d be intermediate drummers … however as I’m used to counting beats for piano and guitar this shouldn’t be too difficult - thank you
@FreeBeat
@FreeBeat 2 жыл бұрын
I should have elaborated on that. Basically I meant I was skipping over the extremely basic beginning acoustic drummer things, such as how to play the bass drum and the hi-hat at the same time haha. It's a lot easier when it's just two buttons :) thanks for watching!

I know it would make sense that my finger chops should be killer but it is a whole different thing than playing guitar. I still have the overdub option of punching in each part of the drum kit one at a time. I’m just jealous of your finger drum chops. Lol

Holyshit it worked it actually fucking worked dude THANK YOU so much for putting this up I've been making my music since my early teen years with a Yamaha PSR 11 and a Karioke machine recording section at a time and could never seperate my left hand from my right when it came to drums. Thank you again now back to the lab for now to practice.

Hey! Finally Free Beat did it! :D Thank you very much! Absolutely helpful!! Please continue these lessons! What can you say about the fact, that pattern No. 3 is much easier for me as pattern No. 2? Something like skateboarding regular and goofy?
@FreeBeat
@FreeBeat 2 жыл бұрын
The skateboarding analogy is actually a pretty good one. When you're first starting out, one hand is going to be much rhythmically stronger than the other. Focus on developing your other hand (skating switch, if you will) and you'll find that pattern too will get easier. Slow it way down and work on that double bass drum hit, with focus on the second independent hit. Don't get discouraged and keep practicing :)

Hello Mr Free Beat. Again,i come to bother you because of the Zoom Recorder. As I've been saying (to exhaustion, sorry) in all of your videos,I'm probably gonna get a Zoom H1N,that has aux in. I'm planing to record my MPC sessions directly to the Zoom via Aux out from the MPC or the monitors (still deciding). Is it possible to disable the mics from the zoom(s) and record only (from) the MPC? Like with no other ambient sound? I have 2 kids and my "studio" is in the living room,where the TV is :D Thanks again!
@FreeBeat
@FreeBeat 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you have to arm the channels before recording. The zoom will also export all the channels as different audio files, so if you accidentally record something you didn't want to you can just omit that file from your final recording.
