Hello Chandi, Emily O’Dell is my wife and knitting has been what has saved her throughout our tough situation that has spanned four years. Literally saved her life. The way you have displayed this design and your calming words touched both of us and she is currently watching your video for the fourth time. Knitting and crochet is the only thing that brings her peace as we mourn our ambiguous loss of our children through trafficking. You have brought her such a profound sense of peace with this video and I want to extend my sincerest gratitude to you and your followers for helping save my wife. God bless all of you and from my family to yours Thank you all ❤️

Yes, lately I’ve been feeling like I’m treading water. I got back to my wips. I finished my knitted blanket, my crochet hat and scarf set. I felt so much better, it relaxed & brought a smile to my mind, heart and soul. 'So, I just keep praying, knitting & crocheting. I’m going to make this shawl for sure. Thanks Chandi.

Knitting helped me while I was supporting my sister through her stem cell treatment for cancer. For weeks I sat beside her bed knitting hats and shawls that she could use on her then bald head in the softest of fibres that wouldn't cause any itch. The act of knitting helped both of us during that time and we both have wonderful memories of the laughter, the tears, the fear, and the elation when her cancer went into remission. Take the time and get in touch with yourself one stitch at a time while also adding hope and love into every one of those same stitches. A handmade item is truly a priceless gift in my opinion.

I always look forward to Fridays when you bring us another lovely pattern. This shawl is so calming when I look at it. The one time when knitting bought me peace is right after my youngest Son took his own life in Feb 23, 2020. I thought I was going to loose my mind but this was what kept me sane. I've been knitting for 40 years now, and this was the only time in my life I felt I needed to have for myself.

I just love the way you connect knitting to an attitude of living. It speaks to the way I lived for several years while my husband’s battle with Parkinson’s intensified and he finally had to be moved to a nursing home. Knitting was a large part of ‘showing myself that I am alive, am still able to find joy and pride in spite of heartache, that creativity largely helps to rescue one from drowning. My husband passed over a year ago and now knitting helps me find a sense of worth and joy and passing some otherwise lonely hours. Joined a knitting club which reinforces all those things. Yes, we don’t just knit beautiful or useful items, we engage in something that calms, brings joy, gifts us with useful life-lessons of perseverance, patience and trust in the process. Thank you ❤️

Any time I need some centering and calm, I pick up my yarn work. If several days have gone by where I haven't worked on something, I can feel the absence in my body and am drawn to sit down and pick it up again. Soothing, meditative, centering, and grounding. So grateful to have hands that have all their fingers and work well, a brain that can figure things out, money to afford yarn and nice needles, and time to devote to the craft. Thank you for your virtual calming, uplifting presence. ❤

Whenever I am overwhelmed by life, whatever it has thrown my way, my hook brings me back to center. A simple single crochet thermal stitch potholder and my mind can stop thinking about the days troubles and just focus on the motion of going into the stitch, picking up a loop and going back through both. Again and again. At some point I start to sing in my head or pray then I feel the peace come over me. Alas all is well, for now. Thank you for a beautiful pattern. I learned to knit last year, hoping to become so much better next year as it will be my craft of focus. ❤

Knitting keeps me calm on a daily basis. I've always said that it's therapeutic and so satisfying to see the end results of your work, especially when it's a gift for someone you love. I learned to knit from my mother and picked it up at a time in my life when my world seemed to be falling apart. I was living in a shelter with my two young daughters and within months of each other, I was diagnosed with MS and my younger daughter with bipolar disorder. We were there for over a year before we finally found a place to live. Knitting got me through all that. Now, some twenty years later, I'm the proud mother of a nurse and making gifts for my grandchildren. I owe my current life to knitting because it kept me from sinking into despair even at my lowest points.

Hi lovely lady, your sweater is absolutely gorgeous. I am a chronic pain patient with insomnia. Taking up my crochet hook or neddles and working on a project helps me focus on something other than the pain. I've had a lot of time with pain, 24+ surgeries but feeling the yarn and the rhythm of a pattern like this one helps calm my mind. I can take easier breaths which helps soothes the frantic feeling of my pain being out of control.

What a beautiful video. And the colors of the shawl are simply stunning. I keep two patternless WIPs on my end table--one crochet and one knit. Their purpose is in part to practice stitches, but because there is no pattern, their real purpose is to calm my mind with repetitive stitch making. Made of scrap yarn, they become blankets for the dogs and cats when big enough. Thank you for starting this Friday on such a lovely note.

Another delicious pattern and inspiration from you, Chandi. Thank you. I have suffered with depression and anxiety for over 20 years, with a nervous breakdown thrown in, just for fun. Knitting has been my constant companion throughout, allowing me to distract my noisy mind and calm myself while creating something new. I love knitting and don't know what I would be without it.

I started crocheting and knitting the same year my daughter had finished chemo. She was only 8 years old. My mind goes to the dark place more often than I care to admit. Counting stitches, looking for new patterns, watching KZbin videos helps me. Thank you for all you do! Collectively crochet and knitting channels help fighting depression more than therapists and drugs. I can’t control the future but I can make beautiful things.

The beginning of your video brought me to tears. Crochet saved me during a very difficult tragedy - December 2016. I learned to Crochet because I couldn't quilt. I couldnt use rotary cutters, sewing machine, needles and scissors because my mind couldn't concentrate without veering and making a mistake with sharp tools. In came Crochet and counting, so much counting, it helped ease my soul. I often turn to Crochet during difficult times now, but I love the beauty in the quiet slow and therapeutic benefits it gives me.

Knitting and crochet has kept me sane and calm. It brings the joy of creation, the affirmation that if you make a mistake, you can rip it back and start over. Or, if you've made a tiny mistake, you can accept imperfections in your piece, and in yourself.

Knitting has brought a sense of peace and fulfillment to my life. I am creating something and weaving colour into gifts for friends and family. I am not a talented knitter and have huge issues with following patterns, but I knit hats, blankets etc, and have been able to share the results. This has helped in times of stress, and and loss.

Thank you, Chandi, for giving voice to this truly amazing process - making a stitch, then another, and somehow we can feel better. It is so intimate and universal at the same time. We feel connected to ourselves and to a world full of the artistry of of the designer, the yarn makers and dyers and whoever may be doing the same or even any other pattern. I say “we” because when I crochet I don’t feel alone. Much gratitude.

My knitting and crocheting bring me peace and calm so much that I always have several WIPS going at the same time so I can pick something up to work on that will bring me the calming and relaxing feeling I need. Also, listening to your voice has a wonderful calming effect. Thanks Chandi!

I have Crohns disease and stress causes problems with my guts so i use knitting to stay grounded and help me keep my stress levels low. I'm so thankful that I have this wonderful hobby. This pattern is so lovely! The colors are sumptuous as is the movement of the fabric. I'd love to cuddle and snuggle into that beautiful garment! Mmmm!

Gorgeous. Chandi, everything you create is so. Knitting and crocheting is a lifesaver for anyone who ventures into these crafts. It has saved me from insanity of the chaos around me. The creativity and innovation of immense variations will never make knitting and crocheting a repetitive boredom. Much love ❤

Hey Chandi, watching you knit is like a meditation in itself. Thanks for all your inspiration and beautiful patterns. When the stress of life gets too much and my mind and body is unable to settle, I know I always have my knitting to calm my mind. It forces me back into the moment in the best possible way.

I learned to knit, following your KZbin tutorials, near the end of 2019. As we all know, 2020 was a year for the record books. Knitting was both calming when I felt overwhelmed and entertaining when isolation wore heaviest. The pieces I made during that troubled year are still some of my favorites to wear. As they say, this too shall pass!

I have always said that knitting is very zen for me. Knitting makes me concentrate on what I’m doing so every other thought or care vanishes for the time that passes while knitting and I actually feel more peaceful afterwards.

Good morning Chandi. Thank you for this video. The shawl is beautiful! Crocheting and knitting is my stress reliever. I am currently going through a great deal of stress, caring for a early onset demented and handicapped mother, a brother recently in a big truck accident that resulted in surgery, and working through a challenging time in my marriage. When I visited the doctor last week I was told my adrenal glands are suffering from the stress, so I picked up my needles and locked myself away in my bedroom to knit. I am knitted a throw for my son. The colors and yarn are soothing to work with. After a particularly challenging evening, I woke to your video this morning. Your calm voice and insight was balm to a weary soul. I love the colors chosen for the project you highlighted in this video. I'd love to make the shawl for my daughter. A sort of hug from a mom to her daughter. Thank you for investing in the community and providing so many of your patterns for free. God bless you!
