Is there a substitute for the gluten free flour in the cake and burlee?? Like coconut or almond flour??
@sarahholness5969 жыл бұрын
I've never heard of arrowroot flour what is it?
@abbynoso31409 жыл бұрын
It's another name for tapioca flour. It's just a thickening agent used in baking
@lexuschristopher239 жыл бұрын
It's a thickener! But you can replace it with something like corn starch too!
@HealthNutNutrition9 жыл бұрын
+Sarah Holness Yes its basically just a "thickner" so you could skip it if you really wanted to since these are just mini versions.

@chanlinsee7779 жыл бұрын

i want to use my homemade soy milk for the double chocolate cake . but should i sweetened it before using ? And one more question is oat flour is gluten free flour ?
@HealthNutNutrition9 жыл бұрын
+Chan Lin See no sweetner needed! I always use unsweetened nut milk :) I also used Bobs red mill gluten free flour for this recipe. I should link it in the recipe, thanks for the reminder!

+HealthNutNutrition Thanks !!! Will definetely try to make this since chocolate cake is my favorite !

is there any substitution of arrowroot flour, soy milk and coconut sugar ?
@leahludwig89288 жыл бұрын
Arrowroot flour can be substituted for any other starch flour (so anything really), the soy milk can also be substituted with any dairy or non dairy milk, and raw sugar would be the best substitute for coconut sugar
@leahludwig89288 жыл бұрын
You can use cornstarch instead of the arrowroot in the crisp recipe

Can you use almond milk instead of soy milk? And OMG, 2 of my fave KZbinrs!!!!! Love you guys!
@thejuliething9 жыл бұрын
+Fanny Chirinos-Tober I don't believe almond milk or any other plant milk will work in this case, it doesn't thicken like soy milk do from what I know :)

@HealthNutNutrition9 жыл бұрын
+Fanny Chirinos-Tober You can use almond milk and I have tried it for this recipe but soy thickens a lot better. But dont worry it still works with other nut milks :)

Why do you put two different kinds of flower in one recipe
@junglequeen6979 жыл бұрын
arrowroot is a starch similar to cornstarch or potatoe starch. hope this helps
@HealthNutNutrition9 жыл бұрын
+shahad TW arrow root is a thickener. But when you're baking gluten free you usually do use more than one flour to create the same consistency as regular flour.
@S97-Miele9 жыл бұрын
oh okay thanks

Is there a reason vegans tend to use arrowroot powder instead of corn starch?? I'm subscribed to a lot of baking channels on KZbin, both vegan and non-vegan, and I've noticed that all the vegan channels use arrowroot powder, while the non-vegan channels use corn starch. Was just curious about this. Anyone know why that is?
@Sofia-og4qw8 жыл бұрын
+MarshmallowTwinkles I had the same question! I googled it and turns out cornstarch is usually made from genetically modified corn, while arrowroot is not and that's why a lot of people prefer using arrowroot, since it works just the same :)
@MarshmallowTwinkles8 жыл бұрын
+Sofia Ohh okay, so it's just a healthier option. Thanks for the response! :)

Oats are intrinsically gluten-free, why the need to specify it. The only gluten-filled grains I can think of are wheat, rye and barley.
@lutacos8 жыл бұрын
some of the oats are contaminated as the crops are grown by wheat or barley for example and or the company manufacturing them also manufacture non-gluten free products, therefore oats specifying they are gluten free have no chance of being contaminated. Small details like this are important for celiacs, where as if its a mild intolerance or life style choice it may be over looked or sadly seem like a sales strategy

Gluten free oats get me bloated. So do non gluten free oats. Are gluten free oats really gluten free???.....
@HealthNutNutrition9 жыл бұрын
+SkyX10^-^ oh really? Maybe its just oats in general. But yes oats are naturally gluten free but are usually processed in factory's that also make wheat products so its best to get gluten free if you're sensitive.
