Dog trainer here with more than 25 years of experience. There are quite a lot of generalisations in this video. Not every dog has a will to please, and the WTP is different in every dog. Which kind of reward you choose, depends totally on the dog. A fearful dog won't receive a pet on the head as a reward but a threat. A dog that is not food motivated won't do shit, even for the best treat in the world. The whistle "trick" burns the sound of the whistle. I need the whistle first and foremost to get in contact with my dog over a far distance. I don't need it to annoy my dog long enough to stop barking. If I blow the whistle to correct my dog, he won't listen to it anymore as soon as s/he is far enough away. If dog training was that easy, I'd have to look for another job.
