As usual, Robert gives really great advice. Here in the U.S., even at luxury eyewear boutiques, many sales people won't take the time to diagnose your eyewear needs. They sell you the most expensive frames but won't explain the differences between lenses. You're a walking ATM. The thing is, you deserve the very best, don't you think? To get the very best, you must be your own advocate. Educate yourself. I've learned so much by watching this channel. Every topic is covered and I often watch the same video multiple times. Ask questions. Learn. Discover. Robert and The Spectacle Factory has you covered.

I made 2/3 mistakes you mentioned on my first pair of glasses 2 years ago with a local optician and now I am doing my research before I get my next set of glasses. Wish you had branches of the Spectacle factory here in the US. I have learned so much from your videos and I am a lot more wise now than I was back then.

I work at Specsavers. Our most expensive frame is £170 for rimless which includes a 1.6 lens and anti-glare. The biggest challenge of my job is talking to customers about more stylish frames and better lenses... Customers see the £15 specs or 241 from £70 and gravitate towards that. They complain it sounds like up selling.

And just the tip of the iceberg when your customer wants progressive, or varifocal lenses! I’ve been wearing those for a few years, and it’s worth taking some time for them to work out the detailed setup so that it works well at various viewing angles and the sizing of the lens. If its not quite right, it’s easy to end up with ones head out of balance, or at the wrong angle, for some tasks, e.g.

Absolutely fantastic video! The insights on common glasses buying mistakes are spot on. I’ve personally experienced the lack of service at many spectacle shops, and your tips are incredibly valuable. #4: Don't let initial comfort be your decider. I feel like more than half of my customers utter "these feel better around the ears/nose/whatever" when picking a pair, despite prefering the look of another pair better. I have to tell them that I always adjust the glasses for the customer and that almost any pair can be made just comfortable, as long as the sizing is alright and there isn't some inherent hinderance, like a very low nose bridge and acetate frames for example. That a pair feels perfect right off the shelf is just random luck, and it should factor in to their choice of glasses.

Questions:- 1. Can Duravision Flash lenses be used on their own and without Photofusion X. 2. If using Flash lenses do you just get the cheaper Duravision silver coating? as the platinum has anti reflection coating which will be pointless with Flash

Funny, I talked about that in the original cut (there's always parts that are edited out) and I basically said it's all about having the confidence that a cool pair of glasses will good and not worrying too much whether they 'suit' me.
