I felt the same way on "Wisdom Comes", I wanted to hear that cool funky riff that comes after the main riff. That's what makes "Wisdom Comes" a stand out song on The Link for me, I freaking love The Link and I feel it's arguably Gojira's most underrated album.

Great riff choices man! Also, the way you hold your guitar pick is wild! Misha from Periphery used to hold his guitar pick in a similar way, but he eventually changed it to a more "proper" technique after seeing how Jake and Mark use the proper technique. He changed it because the way he used to hold it placed limitations on what he could do. I believe you can find the video of him talking about that on KZbin. Anyway, sick playing man!

Before i go on this tangent, i just want to make clear that this video is GREAT. What i'm about to say really has nothing to do with this video because all of the covers are truly flawless, but it did remind me of something i've asked for a long time. Why does everybody go crazy over that break down from remembrance? I know, its played very technically and is kinda bouncy, but its just open d, and whenever the song is talked about its always just that same goddam breakdown. It also doesn't help that i feel that the entire rest of the song is way better than the breakdown and i feel its getting discredited. Anyways, tangent over, great cover. Ps: sorry for more than likely making a lot of commenters mad

Thanks a lot, mate. I get what you're saying, and I appreciate your input. I feel like it's polyrhythmic in a way that not too alienizing to the listener, it's not like a Meshuggah riff that blows you away and then makes you give up on trying to keep up with the song. It's bouncy for sure but in a little teasing way that keeps you engaged throughout the outro, tastefully written. I think many great and iconic riffs are made out of just one note, especially with chugs and cool rhythms. Also, the context of the song is very important, in my opinion. Sometimes dynamic structure and other times the buildup that leads to that riff gives that heaviness. The rest of the song is overlooked, sadly. Cheers!

They still kick ass, IMO. I personally love pretty much their whole discography and appreciate their search for new sounds, and evolvement in different directions as artists. But I also get what you love about their first albums, like a more raw death metal type sound. Thanks for sharing your opinion here. Cheers dude!

Another world, I wondered what band made that riff. I heard it one day on the xfinity metal channel (930? Maybe idk) but I heard it and figured out what they were doing in a couple mins and I play that riff from time to time plus mutations of that idea concept

Great video, straight to the point, great riffs that make me just want to grab the guitar and discover more. Looking forward to more videos like this - seeing as you have covers of Lamb of God and Children of Bodom, perhaps I may suggest those for future videos. I'd love to see a video like this on Vektor, don't know if you've heard them but they too have this cool "outer-spacey" vibe.

Thank you, yes for sure, Gojira's really an inspirational band. Thanks for the suggestion, however, I will focus on exploring new genres, writing original music, and composing musical pieces in the style of mini-documentary-type videos. Sure I'll keep doing covers here and there spontaneously, but my intentions aren't on making this channel a mainly cover channel. Cheers, mate!

Which riff from Satan is Lawyer do you think is the best? Honestly, dude, this video was extremely hard for me just because I had to leave out so many terrific riffs because otherwise, it would be their whole discography you know? haha Thanks a lot, glad you've liked the selection and the riffage! edit: Now, that I listened to it again.
