I was taken aback by Gojira at first because I heard they were a death metal band. I can't listen to death metal bands like Cannibal Corpse because they're nothing but loudness with no quiet moments, which is what music wasn't for me. (BTW, I like some Cannibal Corpse songs.) Gojira to me is a lot like TOOL. A band whose music is almost spiritual or philisophocal. To a pothead like me, I'm all about that stuff.
